I am not sure we want Kiffin either, with that said, if he does not get a HC position this year at these non power 5 schools - things won't be any better for him next year. He already has had 3 HC positions and failed each time. I seriously doubt he gets a 4th. I hope sees this and comes to realization, he not HC material but he is a very good OC - that could do well in College or the pros - like his dad - just on the other side of the ball.

Chip Kelly is rumored to have an interest in hiring Kiffin to his offensive staff at San Francisco, which might be his best move at this point.

Are you fricking kidding me!!!!!

Ok Kelly's star in the NFL as a HC will be extinguished at the end of this year and if he doesn't get fired this year next year he will have a few games at most show the world something or his HC's days in the NFL. That is like watching the titanic sinking and going a jumping on the ship because it was a luxury liner when it took off from England so it must be safe, even though I see it sinking into the abyss!!! Kelly will be back in college in 2 to 3 years whether he wants to be or not!!!

The source of the story was the Ole Miss analyst, Cordelli, who spoke yesterday on Buddy Songy's show.

As they discussed the latest on the LSU OC search, Cordelli related the information that he had regarding Kelly's possible interest in Kiffin for the 49er offensive staff.

Helfrich was not brought up and I have not heard anything about him in this regard, so I can't tell you anything about Kelly's interest, re Helfrich. I can say that it is my impression, from what I have gathered in reading various pieces on Kelly and Helfrich, that they remain friends and speak with some frequency.

On that basis, I am sure that if there were some interest in the NFL on Helfrich's part, that Kelly would assist him in any way that he could. JMHO.

I think that Saban would encourage Kiffin to jump to the NFL, as the logical next step in raising his stock, while strongly discouraging him to take a flawed position with likes of FAU, or make a pointless, lateral move to LSU.

While he may get some credit for any Tiger offensive turnaround that he might precipitate, it wouldn't necessarily demonstrate his ability as much as it would point up LSU's already well documented offensive incompetence.

However, Kiffin is indisputably stubborn, arrogant and immature, so he is capable of exercising truly poor judgement and stepping directly into one mess or another, so I suppose that we should expect him to land in Baton Rouge, after all?

Stranger things have happened.

There's a high school in my area looking for a head coach. Does anyone have a source close to Kiffin?

At this point neither us nor bama should pay him more than he's currently making lol. He's making himself look ridiculously desperate

LSU lock. Just give up, Kiffin. Dominate at OC another couple years and schools will come crawling.

He can shop himself around and be patient in negotiating deals as long as he knows he has LSU as a safety net. I needs to continue interviewing.

To be fair, he didn't fail as a head coach at UT. He went 7-6 which isn't great, but the team was 5-7 the previous year and he brought in a great recruiting class in his only year there.

Kiffin did a decent job at USC too under the circumstances of the mess it was when he took over, scholly reductions, etc. Somewhat of a kneejerk firing after a bad loss. Lane probably could've finished that season as well as Orgeron did as an interim. Who knows how things would have played out longer term if he hadn't been fired there.

Kiffin is supposedly meeting with ITT Tech's AD at the Arbys in Boca Raton tomorrow.

If this one falls through, LSU may have an OC baws!

Geaux Tigers!

He didn't fail, but he left Tennessee in the middle of the night to avoid contact with people (literally) and took the USC job.

This is after the late Raiders owner Al Davis fired him and had a press conference where he said Kiffin "is not who we thought he was".

It's not about performance, it's about the extreme lack of character and integrity.

Originally, the idea of Kiffin running our offense seemed crazy enough to work and having to wait until he finished his current job was the price we had to pay. It is becoming apparent to me that LSU would be no more than the job he would settle for if all else fails. O would be wise to find another OC that he could sign for 3 years.

It's not a good look waiting for Kiffin to tell us no. He should target someone and go get them.

Um, pretty sure there is no Arbys in Boca. Trust me, I would have sniffed that place out long ago.
