I say it's a toss up with maybe a slight advantage to LSU

Yet nobody has given a reason. Same level? Ok. FSU >? GTFO

Winning percentage all time:
FSU .680 LSU .650

National titles (last one):
FSU 3 (2013) LSU 3 (2007)

Salaries:
Jimbo 5 mil Les 4.3mil

Conference titles:
FSU 18 LSU 14

FSU top 4 in the AP 14 straight years 1987-2000, LSU run from 2003-2011 sorta close maybe?

All I see is two pretty close programs

I just don't see how anyone can definitively say that when you have examples of them losing assistants, e.g. Pruitt who left after a national championship year for a raise from 600k to 800k from Georgia. Then you have LSU who goes and commits to Aranda a $1.3 million deal after the most tumultuous end to an LSU season since 1999. The recruiting base is at least on par with FSU and conference prestige is higher.

There was more to Pruitt leaving than money. He had a personal issue which was part of him leaving. The assistant pay is way overblown. They have stepped up in the last couple years.

There isn't much of a difference between the 2

No in-state competition for recruiting
Flagship
Next door to Texas
Pays assistants much more
Willing to pay coach whatever he wants
Better facilities
Higher Athletic budget and more profit
Self Sufficient Athletic Department

I take that back. LSU is far and away the better program. FSU isn't in LSU's league

You only posted the things that makes it close.

The post a few down from yours tells why LSU slightly >. I'm not slighting FSU at all

All I see in that post other than athletic revenue is unquantifiable mumbo jumbo

Im not even saying FSU is better but program statistics show they are absolute equals and in the same tier

The only thing worse about LSU is playing in the same conference as Bama, Auburn, A&M, Ole Miss, Arkansas etc.

Program statistics are what people use to say ND is still the best. The what are u doing now & the future potential matter more.

Just curious, why are you sure Saban is retiring soon? Seems to me that he might turn into a Paterno type that stays forever because he's treated liked a god

Exactly and thats what Kanell and McShay said. They gave lsu the edge in everything except its harder to come out of the sec. They said FSU plays 2 programs that are consistently good while lsu plays in the sec west.
