save some money, stop dragging this out for a bunch of guys to shoot us down. He's a crapshoot, but so is everybody else, even the "White Whales". He's been successful, and that's the only thing you can measure. I'd rather get a guy on the upside of his career than one who's plateaud or even started down.

Napier is less of a crap shoot than any other G5 HC. His teams are well coached, very well coached. He could win NCs at LSU

I have a feeling the Woody is very comfortable with handing the keys to Napier. He’s literally waiting for Riley to give a definitive answer. If it’s a no, Napier will be the next HC of LSU.
Honestly, I think Napier would do extremely well here and has the potential to be one of the best in the game. But there’s still risk involved. With Riley you minimize that risk and get what you already know is one of the best in the game.
