Ok boys and girls, take this for what's it worth:

I have a strong reason to believe they're closing in on a deal in principle with Jimbo for an amount in excess of $6 mil a year. If it's not done already, it may be soon. Whether or not Jimbo is serious about it or just using it for more leverage with FSU remains to be seen.

The good: if he comes, he's not even going to bat an eye at the thought of NOT bringing Charles Kelly with him who has turned out to be a disappointment--allowing 226 points in 9 games this season (25+ per game average). As many have you have already suggested, I fully expect they do whatever they have to in order to retain Aranda with a figure north of $1.5 mil. I also expect this to be announced fairly soon after the regular season, likely the week after Thanksgiving. If we haven't heard something by the end of the first full week of December, something has gone terribly wrong.

The bad: If Coach O wins out, though, it could still (potentially) poo poo the whole thing. A Fisher deal has been poo pooed by LSU once already. You all know what the ramifications will be if it happens again.

The ugly: Jimbo's personal life. I think Jimbo will take the deal with LSU for a variety of reasons. Obviously, LSU is a great opportunity, he can build a dynasty, dominate recruiting, etc., but he also has some personal issues to deal with. One, Ethan's Fanconi anemia. The other is Candi. I understand she has some serious issues. (Anyone who can blow $21,218 a month while flying around and sleeping with men half her age needs help IMO). There's a custody order in place requiring Jimbo pay a mere $4,500 per month in child support along with an undisclosed amount of alimony. If he moves, she may seek a modified Order. There is a chance he wouldn't want to move to Baton Rouge without his kids, especially Ethan. I don't know if Candy will let that happen without a fight.

The not so ugly: Jimbo was apparently on his way to LSU last year despite Candy, until the deal was poo pooed by LSU. I've read that, despite their differences, Candy and Jimbo are united on doing what's in the best interest of Ethan. I've also heard that he has some cards in his deck he could play in a legal battle, including emails and text messages between Candi and her suitors that she refused to produce during the divorce proceedings. So she may have to give Jimbo want he wants on this one. If she doesn't, I don't know if Jimbo will want to put himself and sons through the drama.

The above is based on what I've heard from some people who claim to be in the know, along with a dash of hunch, and pinch of common sense. Again, take it for what it's worth.

If the people in charge are smart, they'll recruit Candi as hard as Jimbo. Buy her a house, get her into the right social circles, etc. Do what it takes.

Jimbo and Aranda would be so glorious. I'm going to hunt you down if this doesn't materialize.

Based on context, that is what he meant. He writes about making every effort to retain Aranda a few sentences later.

Sorry, poor choice of words. Meant he's not going to entertain the thought.

Yeah, recruit his ex-wife.

Great idea

I would not melt if Jimbo hired a great DC.

A head coach is far more important than a DC.

Aranda will be a head coach next year or the year after. He won't be there long.

And this is the thing. We attract good DCs. It's been the least of our problems in the last decade. We've had one or two questionable experiments that lasted one year, but I think it's fair to say that we are attractive in that area and guys are able to succeed.

We'll also pay a shite load.

Uhhh yeah. She will need to move to LA in order for him to be able to see his kids. Custody arrangement could be nullified if he moved states.

Do whatever it takes to get Jimbo while keeping Aranda and O.

Just give her a set of keys to the locker room, that would do the trick.....

If there is anything That Orgeron can do to disrupt things between LSU and Fisher, then they aren't smart at all.
I'd consider them downright stupid.
