The offense changed immediately overnight. There was no grooming lol. Joe Brady is the best assistant at any position lsu has ever had. Ensminger is a nobody outside of LSU fans who like him because he talks like a baw
It's incredible. Then you go right back to the "one of us." narratives yet Brady is probably overhyped for being a part of LSU around here. He has lost a lot of his overhyped shine over the past two seasons.
Tremendous assistant does not equate to successful coordinator. Brady was not the coordinator in 2019. I don't know how else for you to understand that. He worked well as an assistant to Ensminger, the guy you continue to trash.
Show me what Brady has done on his own as a coordinator? Provide examples please. From people in the actual know, such as Hester, they say Ensminger called the plays. So no matter how much you dislike Ensminger. No matter how much you want to bring up 2018.. Ensminger was running the offense in 2019. Perhaps, maybe just maybe Brady works well as an assistant? And that isn't to say he didn't have input on 3rd down/red zone play calls. Ensminger still according to most had final say here.
You really don't believe a Senior can improve from one year to the next? You really didn't see his performance in the bowl game against UCF? You don't believe a guy like Chase can breakout from his Freshman season to his Sophomore season? You don't believe a lot of different variables could be at play here for a tremendous 2019 season? Including Brady as a tremendous assistant.
The argument was never that he wasn't a tremendous assistant, so why are you bringing that up? We are talking about him as a coordinator now, correct?
Keep saying 2018. It will never replace the fact that Ensminger ran the offense in 2019, called the plays, and worked with the quarterbacks.
Sorry that Brady wasn't responsible for that. He brought some nice concepts and was a great receivers coach though.

Great points.
Ensminger was burrow's qb coach both years

Joe Brady called plays too. That’s public information.
Watching this board come full circle on diminishing E’s involvement to favor Brady and now the opposite is absolutely fascinating.

Didn’t Brady call 3rd downs and redzone?

Something like that. Ed O said 70% of the calls were E.

Ensminger sucked before and after Brady.
Add Brady, offense unstoppable.
Take Brady away, offense can’t score on anybody.
Brady was co-coordinator, and Ensminger himself said Brady called the plays every trip to the red zone, when we had to punch it in E handed the steering wheel to Brady every time.
E’s a good dude. One of us baws, but man I gotta call a spade a spade, dat Joe was the difference maker.

E also said Brady called plays. And Ed said that in defense of his 2020 offense.

Nice response. Pretty weak, Lester.
Hey Lester. So you said Brady was brought into because Ensminger sucks.
I like to ask you this. Whose idea was it to bring Brady in? ??

You have nothing other than 2018 sucked, so Ensminger sucks and can't ever get any credit.
Or your favorite, "One of us" go-to to dismiss anyone who thinks he deserves any credit for 2019. I didn't care for Ensminger as OC, but he still deserves credit for coaching up Burrow and the 2019 offense. Probably deserves credit for suggesting they add Brady to the staff? No? Depending upon who you believe suggested adding him here. At least he agreed it was important and the offense needed to change. He is on record for saying this.
And you refuse to acknowledge a quarterback can improve significantly year to year. And you refuse to give his QB coach any credit for it.
There is nothing to show Brady is a solid OC at this point in his career. It's not to say he wouldn't be, but it is a risk at this point in his career. Probably a risk worth taking, IMO. I think that should be up to Kelly though.
And if it is true about a 70-30 split in play calling, what exactly would you call that? Sounds like prepping/easing a guy into taking over as OC. No? He had no experience doing so. Did that not seem like the plan here?
Ensminger has said on record he let Brady call plays inside the 12 yard line unless he wanted to go fast. Absolutely credit Brady for that. It's a shame he went to Carolina and we didn't get to see him on his own here.
I cannot wait to see Brady's next stop. I really hope it is another OC job.

Sounds good compared to refusing to give Brady any credit and expecting him to make shite into prime rib in the NFL while making it very excuse in the book for E’s long history of incompetence
shite I’m old enough to remember when E was the #1 pit master of Les Miles BBQ crew that everyone wanted gone for a decade

You can say that all you want, but the facts don't reflect it. LSU's offense was not bad after Miles left and they were actually putting up similar numbers to 2019 with a ton of attrition in 2020 before Brennan went down, despite the terrible addition of Linehan. I don't think they would have sustained that, it was obviously different without Burrow and Brady, but they would not have matched 2019 even if Brady had stayed due to the loss of Burrow and so many other key players.
It has become pretty clear that the dynamic of Brady and Ensminger worked to perfection and NEITHER were as good on their own; saying that either of them "suck" is just a lazy narrative.
For the record, I actually agree that the combination of Brady and Kelly could work very well. Watching Brady at Carolina, I think he needs to grow more as an OC, particularly in adjusting his offense to the personnel that he has to work with. Joe, Justin and J'amarr fit his style of play, Cam Newton and Sam Darnold with no CMC, not so much. Not sure if he will go that route, but a return to the college game with an experienced, offensive-minded HC is probably better for his development than trying to slug it out in the NFL.

So Brady wins the Broyles Award and is immediately hired to be an NFL OC; yet, we are to say he was just an assistant that kind of helped out Ensminger?
I assume Ensminger probably served as more the familiar filter as coach whereas Brady provided almost all of the innovation, concepts, and system.

Jonathan Giles was your starting wide receiver in 2018.
Your other 3 wide receivers were true freshmen or sophomores.
Marshall (Freshman) Chase (Freshman) Jefferson (Soph)
Dee Anderson seemed to either be suspended or in the dog house?
You had Moreau and Moss as tight ends, but I believe Moss was dealing with injuries.
Your starting running back was Nick Brossette. While decent he was not the caliber of rb LSU was accustomed to having. He was starting out of seniority. Clyde was only a Sophomore.
Burrow was also starting for the first time in his career as a Junior for a school not known for offense.
Your offensive line was something like
LT - Saahdiq Charles (Soph)
LG - Brumfield (Sr)
C - Cushenberry (Soph)
RG - Damien Lewis (Jr)
RT - Adrian Magee (Jr)
or/Badara Traore (Jr)
Compare all that to 2019
2019
QB - Joe Burrow (SENIOR)
LT - Saahdiq Charles (JUNIOR)
LG - Adrian Magee (SENIOR)
C - Lloyd Cushenberry (JUNIOR)
RG - Damien Lewis (SENIOR)
RT - Austin Deculus (JUNIOR)
Then you even got Ed Ingram back and he had to be a reserve. Insane depth.
TE - Moss (JUNIOR) *healthy*
WR - Jefferson (JUNIOR)
Chase (SOPH)
Marshall (SOPH)
McMath (JUNIOR)
RB - Clyde Edwards-Helaire (JUNIOR)
FB - Carter (JUNIOR)
TL/DR Offense was doomed when Giles was your starting WR.

They think if you say the players weren't the same that you are shitting on joe brady.
Joe brady doesn't have 2019 results with that 2018 team.

The offense was practically the same. If he had a full offseason with them, I bet it would have been pretty damn good. Only difference would have been Burrow coming in during the fall instead of having a full season and spring under his belt with the team.

Of course not, but Joe burrow throws 35tds instead of 16td lol
Players like jamarr chase don’t get pulled out the the game after big plays
Brossette just doesn’t play because he is a Sr
Foster Moreau looks like the nfl player that he should have been
shite, Dee Anderson’s career may go totally different without Ensminger stunting everything he touched
