The NFL is going through a transition where the hot young offensive coordinator is getting the next open NFL job.

I'm sure that's what Joe Brady is planning for his future.

Until/unless that trend changes, I think it's going to be pretty damn hard to lure a NFL offensive coordinator.

The Brady types are about to get NFL jobs.

He supposedly HATED recruiting, and that what before it became even worse with NIL and the transfer portal.

I don’t think he would coach in college unless he had no other choice.

Nobody in the NFL does. No time off.

The exodus is college to NFL not the other way.

There is zero quality of life (I dont care how much you make) in college football.

He is the obvious choice, but will he come and will he stay

I think in this new era the HC will only be expected to recruit on campus.

Wasn’t Brady pretty direct that he would coach here for a year then go back to the NFL where he wants to be? He’s going to get other shots at that level.

He didn’t want to recruit when he was here. He has no experience running a program or building a program. What could possibly go wrong

Brady will get an NFL job.

I’m hoping they take a look at Jon Sumrall. He’s done great things everywhere he’s been.

I'd argue that recruiting is easier now with NIL. Back before you had to work all of these off the record deals and do some major dick sucking. Now you just say how much you can pay and you're either the best offer or you're not.

Well the landscape has changed since Brady left here. College programs are being run damn near on an NFL level now. With that being said, IMO he do not want to return to college plus their are better options out there.

I wish yall Xbox dynasty gurus would understand that it takes way more than just throwing together an offense to be an effective head coach at this level.

It’s not really a job where you can learn on the fly. I wouldn’t want to hand the keys over to someone with zero head coaching experience

I’m not sure why some of y’all want to force someone that has no desire to coach college football to be the head coach at LSU. That’s sounds like a recipe for disaster.

While there is an advantage to "locking" a guy down with money, you now have to:

Recruit High School players

and

Those guys filp at the last second for more money more than ever

and

Recruit Portal Players

and

Recruit your OWN GUYS so they don't hop in the portal every single year

Its definitely worse. Its why Saban quit

People who think it’s just “offer more than the other guy” make me laugh.

Money is the main factor, but you still have to pitch yourself and make the kids want to play for you, so the same as it used to be. You also have to raise WAY more money, so that’s a big part of it. You’re also now dealing with agents on top of family and friends.

Then, you have to manage a bunch of 18-22 year olds with too much money and navigate why one of your WRs is making more than the rest even though he’s not producing.

Honestly, frick all of that. It sounds like a nightmare.

HE HATES RECRUITING! Brady couldn’t get out of here fast enough. That’s never happening. Stop with the dumb shite.

The HC doesn't need to recruit in the current system. Frank and Corey are going to be your primary in home recruiters (anticipating they get retained). Talent evaluation is a team approach, but Austin Thomas as GM has 2 top assistants that will help with roster build and talent evaluation and resource management.
