Jimmy Sexton getting Saban millions more?

How many of you think this will all just end up with Jimmy Sexton getting Saban a huge raise and he stays at Bama? I would think with this thing now snowballing and getting bigger by the hour, if something official does not come out by Thursday night from Saban or Bama then he might actually be leaving.

not what he did for him in the past...not what he's doing now.

Alabama won't match Texas. The same thing is happening right now that happened to LSU at the end of 2004. Sexton keeps coming back with his grubby fingers asking for more. Alabama will eventually tell him to take a hike.

I don't know Boat. You think UT is really ready to throw $10 million a year at a coach? That would double his current pay and change the landscape of collegiate football coaching.

I really think Texas would give him that and it sucks for the rest of college football. It's gonna lead to every coach getting a raise.

Nope, unlike LSU Bama will pay anything for him. I agree this is all about $.. except the fact Brown is being forced out. That tells me something is in the works or has been done already.

Jimmy Sexton speaking out on Saban

I am a sports agent, but I am also a fan of my home teams. That’s why, to this day, I have a problem with Nick Saban. He bailed out on my Dolphins after he said there was no way that he was leaving. I should have known not to trust him, since he did the same thing to LSU before leaving the Tigers for the Fins.

Unless Texas offers something off-the-fricking-charts ridiclous, like in excess of $15 million a year, then we would sell our souls to match. Even in such a scenario, I have a hard time imagining boosters not ponying up. The ROI would still be pretty great.

That guy has the best job ever, at least by rant standards...he gets to mind frick millions of irrational fans and media into a frenzy, gets paid millions and never has to do any real work as evidenced by his fat assery.

Saban wouldn't do something that would be bad for the sport. Taking a crazy salary that's higher than any NFL salary would be bad for CFB.

I read an article earlier saying if UT pays Saban the same percentage of their athletic budget as Bama is presently doing, Sban gets a 30% raise. Bama will have to dig real deep to match an offer from Belmont which has much deeper pockets.

Sexton doesn't have to go through this big of a charade to get Saban more money. All he has to do is walk in and tell Bama Saban wants X amount of money and they will pay it.
So its either a coincidence Saban hasn't signed his contract and Brown is being forced out or Saban is the reason he is being forced out.

My thoughts as well. Sexton does this every other year with his clients...he has nothing to lose and everything to gain....he will get more money regardless.

its part of sexton's holiday check list.
good for saban. i've not done the analysis, but someone like him who's name instantly brings credibility and can rebuild a program from the ashes (see bama) on name alone is worth more than $5 m a year. it would not shock me if its worth over $20+ m a year, once you factor in all the alumni giving that increases b/c your school is now winning football games.
