There are different ways to get to 7 million besides straight salary. I doubt he wants a $7 million salary. He may want a contract WORTH 7 million per season. I'd think 6.5 would get him here which is completely reasonable for a man with his resume.

I would try to negotiate it to be incentive based to reach 7 but not his base salary. And obviously Aranda has to be retained.

It was a month ago or more there was some type of agreement, I have no clue what has happened since then unfortunately

With Herman all but a done deal to Texas, Sexton knows Jimbo holds all the leverage. We have opening courted Jimbo since last year. Whatever the number is, Ts&Cs, we will be stuck paying it

They need to accept and not try to negotiate any further. He already knows the conditions. This puts the pressure back on him to sign. However, a prolonged negotiation would be a bad sign that you're being used as a negotiating tool.
