The Jets are expected to part ways with coach Adam Gase after Sunday's finale against the Patriots, per sources, kicking off a search that the entire NFL world has believed was inevitable.

Among the candidates who are slated to be considered are Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bienemy, Colts defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus, Ravens defensive coordinator Don "Wink" Martindale, Titans offensive coordinator Arthur Smith and Rams defensive coordinator Brandon Staley to college coaches such as Iowa State's Matt Campbell, Michigan's Jim Harbaugh and Florida's Dan Mullen to everyone in between.

Expect a lengthy and thorough search.

Will he head back to college to enter the Saban School of Reputation Rehabilitation?

Hope he doesn’t do as many drugs as he did when he was hired.

I'm old enough to remember when the Jets were really good and the Saints were the NFL's clown car.

Nothing would surprise me as far as the Jets are concerned.

I saw someone say Dan Mullen was on their list but not in their top candidates.

Jets have enough cap room and draft picks that they will entice someone - don't think they get passed names 1 or 2, whoever they are.

After the Namath Superbowl they had a little stretch in the early 80s but they've been pretty consistently terrible. The Saints didn't have a winning season for the first 40% of their existence and still have a better all-time win percentage.

Gase is a former Saban GA and assistant at LSU. Wouldn’t surprise me if he was an analyst next year. But he will likely be recycled somewhere in the NFL.

I doubt that, but who knows. He sucked so badly that they kept him around to lose games and get them the number one pick, then he fricked that up too. He is about the most useless coach ever and the gravy train from riding Peyton Manning's success is about to come to an end (finally).

Not that I think much of Gase's coaching, but with that roster, they'd be lucky to win more than 3 games with the ghost of Vince Lombardi.
