Auburn is in a disaster state right now. The NCAA investigation is going to kill them hiring a big time coach.

okay. we'll see. i would just prepare yourself now to be disappointed. you aren't getting a top-notch coach. And, you'll be lucky to even get a young upcoming coach.
In your opinion, who is a realistic hire for Auburn?

Peterson has been quoted as saying his dream jobs are Oregon and Cal. If he leaves Boise, he's going to cal.

It is possible Oregon will be open this off season as well...

Very possible. I think if Oregon won the natty, he'd be gone. Who knows...maybe he will go anyway. I thought he was leaving last year....I just think TB wasn't the ideal situation.

Unlike the others Auburn doesn't need a big time coach to win. Our last 4 coaches were Dye, Bowden, Tuberville and Chizik. Dye won 4 straight SEC championships and finished 2nd to Miami by a few votes in 83 for a NC. Bowden won 20 straight games and played for an SEC championship. Tuberville went 14-0 and had Auburn a cock hair away from a NC. Chizik won a NC. Both Dye and Bowden came from D2, Tubs best season was going 7-4 at OM and I don't need to remind anybody that Chizik was 5-19 at ISU. If these coaches are looking for job stability they would stay were they are but imo they are looking for a chance to win at the highest level and there is no doubt in my mind that Auburn gives them the best chance at attaining that goal.

Auburn staking their claim to the most delusional fanbase in America.
Good job.
Good job.

when you play players then the head coach is nothing more than a figure head, how are those NCAA investigations going by the way?

I thought Pat Dye was at Wyoming before going to Auburn?

He was there for 1 year. I thought they were D2 back then but I was wrong.

IMO, AU has it's positives (great facilties/fan support/talented players/fertile recruiting base) and it has it's negatives (meddling AD/Alabama-Saban/meddling boosters/under NCAA investigation/fired HC 2 yrs removed from winning BCSNC) - The job is 2nd to Tennessee, but above Arky. JMHO

I think Petrino is the perfect fit.
Both are settling due to circumstances.
There may be some burned bridges there, not sure.
