His contract is up with the Cowboys, and reports say may not be renewed. So he's not owed any compensation. What would keep Jason from speaking to reporters about Jerry's meddling in the coaching decisions? That would be pretty embarrassing to Jones, so does Jones give Jason a severance package in lieu of him signing a non-disclosure agreement? Basically pay him to keep his mouth shut?

So you’re going to trash your previous owner while trying to get a job with another owner. Good god there is some stupid on this site.

What's he gonna say Jerry likes to run his team like he owns it? The nerve of that guy

He's the only owner that is also the GM. Maybe if the truth comes out other owners see Garrett not totally responsible for Cowboys collapse. Was Garrett given total authority to hire and fire his own assistant coaches, or was he forced to work with Jerry's choices? Is the Cowboys problems only coaching or really the meddling Owner/GM. As of now, who's going to hire Garrett anyway as a HC.

I'm having a hard time seeing how this is anything but Garrett's fault.

Is the narrative that he didn't have enough talent?

Garrett’s contract won’t be renewed. People forget the Jones and Garrett families are very close and go way back to Jason’s dad and Jerry being good friends. Jason has been a Cowboy for 30 years

He’s taking it easy on Jason and not “firing” him rather not renewing his contract. It won’t be messy.

So Garrett is going to bad mouth one of the most powerful owners in the league, who gave him the job and let him keep it far longer than he should have, and risk never working in a league that only has 32 jobs in the first place?

All just to embarrass jones?

What's the benefit?

He's lucky he got to coach as long as he did. Any other team would've canned him years ago.

I’m trying to think of a coach that has been on the hot seat as many times as Garrett and coming up with blanks..

Im assuming the NDA he probably signed as well as his desire to coach elsewhere someday at the pro level?

Garrett has taken vacations with the Jones family. He’s literally the red-headed stepchild of the family.

He’s made close to $50M from Jerry in his career. He ain’t saying nothing bad about Jerry.

What should we talk about that stuff? He probably wants another job and will probably get one. It’s certainly been worse coaches given a round two. He’s probably a good coach anyway, if given a competent general manager

Has no one taken into account that maybe Jerry Jones just likes having January off?

FlightAware has Cowboys plane hovering over Florida. Sauces say Jason and Jerry are on the plane together. After the Citrus Bowl they are loading up Saban and press conference tomorrow at noon from The Star announcing Saban to Cowboys.

Everyone knows Jerry Jones isn't afraid to meddle and that's one of the drawbacks to being employed by the Dallas Cowboys. What exactly is Jason Garrett going to include as new information?

Suppose he doesn't get hired as a coach or asst coach. Then a network picks him up as a game day analyst, and he's covering a Cowboys game and must make comments on the new coaching staff and Jerry the GM. Even Troy Aikman has been critical of the Cowboys, Jones, and Garrett.
