I tried to say something. These assholes attack you for reporting the truth if it's not what they want to hear. 11/16/21
I was pretty confused when TBL posted about the "white whale" being "harpooned" by SW. I've never heard that.

I just have a hard time seeing Riley on the LSU sidelines, he's building a mansion in Norman...I think the wife wins this one..with a handsome increase in salary

Aranda seems like he should be our coach...

I worry about recruiting...with Aranda, that's my only hang up with him...

Me and TBL were hearing the same thing at that time. I posted Riley almost being a done deal but things can change. Which I said. TBL probably has heard about the Ou extension buzz as well as Vol. they aren’t going to say anything because they will get crucified by this board because it’s not what they want to hear.

Soon enough you people will run off all the good info you get. TBL, Vol, Random, etc.

What is good info? These posters you listed aren't in agreement with their info on this hire. How is that “good info”?

If you're a betting man, do you think he picks LSU?

I assumed it was a given OU would offer something and ultimately Riley was going to have to make a personal decision not entirely based around money

I worry that he just played us for more money and we didn't have a chance.

False. If TBL came here today and said things with Riley fell through I would accept it was fact and move on.

You however are a different story.

We've been down this road before..

I highly doubt Riley picks LSU...OU is great gig...

now, he isn't winning any SEC titles any time soon once they join, but it is what it is

players are the key to championships

OU will fair about like Auburn does...

once Saban retires, then things will change

exactly, it's not like OU was going to just kick the dirt, say oh well, and start looking for another coach.

I think it’s been Aranda all along

And I’m totally cool with that.

Let me repeat. LSU is still not out of it. Riley has yet to say no. It’s not about money anymore. It’s about which program he wants to coach.

Objectively, in my opinion this says LSU is out of it.

Choice A: program you've been at 5+ years, have established your program, have made the playoffs several times (had a chance in 2017 to win it). Expect strongly to continue to win 10+ games every year, and keep contending for playoff spot.
-drawback is moving to a new conference, but juxtaposed against the expansion of the playoff from 4 to 12 teams.

Choice B: program you have no connection to, that has been in upheaval the past couple years, and is in direct competition with the top program in the country (Bama). Uncertain about future, roster, etc.

If money is not the issue, I don't see the draw.

OP has literally brought nothing to this fricking board.

No shite Ou was going to offer an extension. No shite we aren't out of it. And no shite this will be the craziest week for our coaching search.

people downvote because its not what they want to hear, but Riley isnt coming.

His wife shot that down from the start. His new house is MASSIVE and she's very big in the community with her fundraising.

I tried telling people how close they are with Stoops and Switzer and bleed crimson and cream

Oh yeah, and he could be in the playoffs this year and the next two with a Heisman QB.
