Ensminger has plenty of data to support he’s a Meh OC

But whatever it was with him and Brady fricking clicked. It took both, obviously.

Who would Brian Kelly talk to about Brady to actually find out how much influence Brady had on the offense that season? I would think that he would contact Steve Ensminger or maybe even Joe Burrow.

Here's the thing about this, we had the trifecta that year. That's why it worked the way it did

1) Steve Ensminger
2) Joe Brady
3) Joe Burrow

Don't expect the same results

I actually don’t think Brady would want to come back to LSU even if he comes back to college. The narrative could—and would—easily turn to “LSU made Joe Brady.” I don’t think going back to the same place would be the best thing for his career.

And I don’t think Kelly would hire him anyway. We are trying to move forward, build something new, not keep chasing that ‘19 ghost.

Also, getting fired mid-season is a red flag. Rhule doesn’t need a scapegoat with 5 games left. He could have waited until the season was over and gotten the same result. There was talk weeks ago about Rhule maybe taking playcalling duties away from him. Maybe there’s something else going on there.

Yes if we're getting a generational qb with 1st rd weapons.

No if not.

Sure we can go with Spurrier. Maybe Urban doesn’t know offense.

Kiffin failed in the NFL, guess his offenses won’t score any points.

I'm not saying he is a great oc. What I'm saying is it was both of them molding that playbook.

Joe brady knew nothing about a running game or how to call a game.

Ensminger knew nothing of a spread passing game.

Let's be real. That 2019 offense looks much different without burrow, chase, jj, marshall, clyde, and a few draft picks on the o line.

Do you honestly believe that if joe brady was here this year that the team would go to the playoffs?

The OP is right. Brady and Kelley would be a winning combo.

Just like Woodward wasnt staking his career on Napier, Campbell, Tucker, or Aranda. Kelly isnt staking his career on a first-time, recently-fired OC

This is Riley madness all over again. Riley and Brady dont want to be here. Let it go

Can’t let him go to another SEC school. SW should consult BK out of respect and then go get Joe Brady

Well, you also think Woodward should make Kelly hire him, so you’re too fricking stupid to be taken seriously about this. Or anything, really.

How about the #1 QB in the country with Boutte Smith and Nabors?

Brennan had a QBR of 137 in 2019 throwing to guys who couldn’t make an NFL roster.

The guy was a PGC/WR for a year. We can debate his role in the offense but he clearly played a major part in the success, yes. He didn’t make it 2 full seasons as an OC in the NFL.

Now you want to compare him to Spurrier, Meyer, and Kiffin?

You mean do I want To compare him to excellent offensive minds who’s offenses sucked in the NFL?

YES

If you want to use the NFL in your argument I’ll use other failed college coaches in mine

There is a reason why NFL teams mostly hire NFL assistants to be OC.

There are College offenses that are 80% RPOs and based solely on HUNH up tempo stuff, and you don’t see that in the NFL because the quality of defender is better across the board.

Mad? I just think it’s hilarious you think Woodward should make the hire, but give Kelly a “courtesy consultation.” That ain’t how it works when you commit $100 million to a coach. If anything, it would be Kelly giving Scott the courtesy consultation. But really, he’s just gonna tell Scott who to make the check to and for how much.

There are better options. Brady doesn't like recruiting and recommended Peetz. We're restructuring the entire staff. Take advantage and make a more proven hire.

The mythology of this guy has grown way past his reality.

It’s time to let the ghost of Joe Brady go. He’s not the only guy who can coach offense.
