They are both at the top of the list for different reasons. Contrary to popular belief here, not everyone wants to work for an insane fan base in a cut throat Confrence that chews and spits out coaches. Dude can kill it in SoCal with a much higher quality of life.

USC is a better school than LSU, with lower expectations, bigger pockets, less involved fans, and the state is ran better by an order of magnitude.

If you were getting paid $10m a year, where would you rather live: LA or BR?

I suspect that USC will have access to more NIL money..only reason to choose USC over LSU or OU at this point

C'mon the guy is a whiny bitch that shits himself in big games. Riley and USC are made for each other, he slots in perfectly with all of the other frauds in LA.

Haven't they been trying to win a national championship since Pete Carroll / Leinart / Bush left? There can't be zero pressure.

Historically yes. But generally speaking prestige is considered within extended windows of excellence. USC remains alive for major coaching candidates because they have money, and it’s in Southern California. Otherwise they are in the same group as Miami and Nebraska. Winning programs who have lost their shine.
