Not sure what candidate thinks that he will be here for a long time. is that even possible with our expectations? does the new coach HAVE to go 11-1 every year? it's career suicide.

we better go after an old arse coach who only wants to coach for a few more years.

If a coach doesn't welcome those expectations then we don't want him.

Well be discrete and be willing to adapt. Les was here a long time. Don’t be a fool with this 11-1 shite.

Talent, natty, million$… I’m sure there are coaches who would take that chance. High expectations are a welcome burden for coaches who aren’t pussies.

Les Miles and Ed fricking Orgeron won national championships here.

That should tell you what you need to know about the LSU job.

Nick Saban would have been here as long as he wanted

Les Miles was here over a decade

Charles McClendon was here over 2 decades, also I'll point out he took over at LSU shortly after we won NC, as well

Les had 4 years of at least 3 losses before he was fired
Orgeron has now two season of .500 teams

There are plenty of schools where that just isn’t good enough

Get out of here with this 11–1 or bust bs

Is O going 10-2 the last two years? No he lost five games last year this year a lot of returning starters came back and he is shitting the bed once again. hes embarrassing the university its time for him to go. Its good to have high standards that won't accept mediocrity.

O said it in the press conference last night that he knows the LSU expectations and that he knows they haven't been performing to the LSU standard of performance. Then goes on and answers a question about what went wrong. He says he doesn't know what went wrong and if he did, he would have fixed it. While honest, that was telling. Gotta have a plan to fix it or need to get someone else who will have something to try.

This shite right here. frick all the “had nick saban stayed at LSU” talk. If saban just stays in the nfl or goes to another team we would likely be talking nationally about where les miles’ position is amongst the greatest coaches of all time.

This would assumed we fire coaches for going 10-2. Which coach have we fired for going 10-2?

And no, LSU is not career suicide. Where do you people come up with this garbage?

The root cause of opt out, lack of performance by the players, and him loosing the team were political. The administration knows this and he was replaced because of it.

So Orgeron's lack of planning, his off field drama, his lack of focus and his hiring of TWO rookie coordinators had nothing to do with his demise I guess.
