That seemed to be his first choice but higher ups punted. i could see him go back to the well

Obviously I care. But we let a lot of alternate candidates get away bc we were waiting on one. Now we have a choice of leftovers.

Don't be fricking ridiculous, since when the hell is skin color the primary skill, qualifying one for a position??
Nielsen should have been the #1 guy for the DC all along, and it has nothing to do with his skin color, it's because he can build very mean arse defensive lines. A mean arse defensive line that can generate a pass rush from all 4 D-lineman is exactly what we need.

If LSU is LUCKY enough to get Nielsen from the Saints it's not going to be until the Saints season is finished, hopefully, another month.
I realize most people on this site want something yesterday but this guy would be worth waiting for if O can pull it off.

He has some DC experience and recruiting coordinator experience also.
It all starts with the DL.

I really hope not. We need an up and coming college DC seeking to prove himself. Someone with immediate DC experience and proven success at a smaller school. Anything other than that is a risk.

Coach O knew he was, and was still thrilled to be here.
As someone said in another thread, everyone was a backup to Freeman. It doesn’t matter where they fall in line as long as they’re qualified and want the job.

Who did we let get away? Mason, Muschamp, Steele? Who? Because you guys hated all of them, "retreads"....SO what guys? I mean beside Freeman. Please, fill me in?
