Is O’Brien hate justified?

I’ve noticed a lot of people repulsed by the idea of Bill O’Brien being a candidate for head coach. I’ve heard some say he’d be a downgrade from Coach O... are these just salty Houston fans who can’t admit he’s a decent football coach? Or what? What are the major concerns about him giving his track record as head coach (not GM)?

BoB burnt his relationship with Hopkins by comparing him to Aaron Hernandez because he felt Hopkins had too many “baby mamas.”

The feeling is he cant recruit south Texas well after how bad his name is out there

He was successful at Penn State. People see his tenure with the Texans and freak out despite the fact that many great college coaches were bad in the NFL.
ETA: His tenure with the texans wasn't even that bad. He has a better record in the NFL than Saban.

He kept Penn State alive in the aftermath of the Sandusky/Paterno scandal. I'd bet that's the only reason he's being considered.

In addition to the many negatives to justify the hate, there really aren’t many positives to point to at all as a reason to hire him. I really don’t get why his name is even mentioned.

His offensive play calling has been historically bad and he struggled to evaluate talent. He had one of the best D Coordinators ever carry his arse to multiple playoffs.
