I think (and have always thought) that Ed is a semi-literate moron.

O’Brien the coach I could get behind. O’Brian the person, the personality I cannot. And you have to be the complete package.

He was successful at Penn State. People see his tenure with the Texans and freak out despite the fact that many great college coaches were bad in the NFL.
ETA: His tenure with the texans wasn't even that bad. He has a better record in the NFL than Saban.

I don't care what these talking heads like Mascona and Culotta say. They are either being feed bad info on purpose or are actively putting smoke out for the program. I think O'Brien is to the football search what Pat Casey was for the baseball search. In no way do I believe they are serious about O'Brien.

In a search for any high profile position, it is never good to ask why not hire this guy before you establish why you should hire the guy. So give us the why he deserves the LSU job ahead of the plethora of other candidates.
Why is he better than Riley, Fisher, Aranda, Tucker, Fickell, Napier, Campbell, or Kiffin. To name just a few.
At least 0ne of those would accept the LSU position if offered. If you can't tell me he is a better choice than all of those, no point in having the discussion of why not. Or why the hate. Because I don't think it is hate so much as there are better choices out there who would easily say yes.
