Makes absolutely no sense to keep him at that point. Get him out and your new hire in preferably before early signing day. Then you have a shot at some great talent.

The choices are being vetted. Whether or not House is technically still employed by LSU is of no importance. He may be relieved now, he may not be, it doesn't matter.
