Aranda is a perfect fit and you don't need to hire some big DC

Keep Jones. Get a home run OC and time to wreck ppl

Riley wanted the easy way and wouldn't have been a legacy hire

This board shows how fn lonely people are for attention. Everyone seems to get such a fn chubby about starting a new post, regardless of how dumb it is.

He coached at LSU before, making him a ‘legacy’ candidate and a legacy hire.

Bama and Georgia both made defensive hires as head coaches (Saban and Smart). Saban's defenses are always really good, and Smart has shut out 3 teams this year.

Explain how he’s the perfect fit. I seriously want someone to explain that to me

He would stabilize things, operate without any issues, and his defense will win you a ton of games. He is probably one of the safest hires you could make.

Nah. Dave is a fan favorite here because he is a decent human and fielded a few decent defenses while at LSU (only one was inside Top 10). He will be a good coach but I don't think Dave's ceiling is as high as people would like to believe. The recruiting thing is always a concern. With the way CFB is going, I'd really like it if we hired someone with offensive play calling experience.

Perhaps it's just a cultivated persona, but to me, he seems like he has "it" to have a chance to be the next Saban. Just seems like he is intelligent and has gravitas. I can't see how that would be bad.

Do you think big time offensive players would be lining up to play for him? Remember Dave hated to recruit when he was a DC here and made that pretty known. He relied heavily on others to do all the recruiting.

He’s not established. Doesn’t care to recruit, not going to bring in big offensive recruits. There you go. Now your turn. How is he the perfect fit. Come on with it

They hire Dave Aranda, LSU will win 8-9 games a year in the new SEC. It'll take five years this time but we'll be out looking for a new coach then.

Just bookmark this for the disappointment. Dave Aranda isn't going to bring the offense this place wants since 2019. Grind it out with running game and defense isn't going to do it. We'll be back to shuffling through OCs.

Legacy hire means who your legacy will be because that’s who you hired. Woodward’s hire will forever be his hire, his legacy. It doesn’t mean it’s your legacy hire because the hire was so great.

Dave has Baylor playing in a championship game in a week and possibility of making the playoffs.

I see where you are coming from Scrub. But Saban got to where he is by establishing an impenetrable recruiting network. I don't see Dave being quite as crafty/manipulative as Saban had to be to build his empire.
