Heard earlier this year he was but you think it would of happened by now.

He was really really bad this year

The rumors are he is adamant that his son take over as HC, but the admin doesn't think he's anywhere near up to the job.
When his name is on the stadium, I imagine it's a bit tricky for the admin.

Yeah that’s gonna be a bit tricky to handle.

With Brent Venables being an alum, you would think that would be a fit. I am surprised Venables hasn't gotten more looks. I imagine he is being picky. I wonder if he'd want that job and its one of the ones he has been holding off for, or if he might get a better one at some point. He's been one of the best assistants/coordinators for a good while now.

Apparently Snyder and the AD were supposed to meet yesterday, because Snyder said he wanted his decision to be made "quickly", then it never happened. The AD claimed Snyder now wants more time.
I have a feeling Snyder knows the AD doesn't want to just hand the keys to his son, and has some other potential candidates lined up. This could get ugly.

I've heard Venables may be a pretty unimpressive interview, but I'm sure he's being selective regardless

There is a rumor out there that Jim Leavitt has a clause in his contract that says he doesn’t have to pay any buyout money if he becomes the head coach of Kansas State.

He must be. He's been a top candidate for a HC job for years early in the offseason, then when it comes down to it, he's not on the final lists.
Must really suck at interviews.
Or he's waiting for the perfect opportunity? If that's the case, its definitely not Kansas State

Interesting. There was a report that Leavitt already interviewed with Texas Tech this week.
Hopefully the old man isn't trying to handcuff K-State until guys like Leavitt or Venables get hired elsewhere, just for the sake of his son.

Didn’t he sign like a 5 year extension a few months ago?

Directly from a player on the team, this opinion is also shared by many returning members of the team.

Also another rumor he was diagnosed with throat cancer back in the spring. I really hope this one isn’t true.

They were suppose to meet this afternoon from what I read but Snyder couldn't miss the early bird special at Golden Corral so they put it off till his normal lunch time. 6am tomorrow.

Not a rumor. His contract specifically mentions Kansas State, but no other programs.

How many interviews has Venables had? It seems like every couple of years his name is connected with several openings around this time of year, but he’s rarely mentioned as a finalist.
He’s consistently denied interest in a number of jobs over the years. I think he’s waiting on the perfect opportunity, and happy collecting a huge assistants salary until then.

He should be chilling in a rest home by now, just enjoying soft savory foods and watching reruns of Matlock. He's gone above and beyond the call of duty for KSU.
