the issue isn't the new hc wanting to keep aranda...it's more likely imo he has a hc job somewhere else next year. i sounds like he won't be a coordinator for much longer.

I like that idea in some respects, but I feel it would get tricky trying to dictate to an incoming coach, especially a high profile one, who his staff has to be. I mean, who wouldn't want Aranda, but coaches want their guys.

We'll see.

and not knowing anyone in the south didnt keep us from hiring Saban
true but Saban had been an NFL DC under Belichick and had success on the highest level in the Big 10.

Rhule has had one season with a winning record in the American.

some coaches from the north are worth the risk. Rhule is not one of them.

I was thinking the same thing...then Franklin beat Ohio State..

That may buy Franklin one season at most

Was this from a "source" or just your gut feeling. I missed the thread you posted this in. Thanks.

A good friend of mine works for a Executive search firm in Atlanta, they do high profile coaches/ School presidents etc.. No LSU has not hired them, but this is what he does, he makes short list for School AD's to always have in their desk, they are constantly being updated.. Sometimes he gets information sometimes he doesnt but he is always doing research and looking for trends.. and for the Record he was not the one that told me that Herman will be the Head coach of LSU next year.. that was someone else in Houston.

Interesting. You know i have to take all of the insiders with a grain of salt, but i would hope you're being genuine. I know you can't really prove it or defend yourself, but thanks for sharing. I truly hope you are right!

Good coach. I'm sure will get a job at a small p5 conference

Ole macintosh, he coaches in the same conference as Herman and for a longer period of time.

Why does this guy need another coaching step and Herman doesn't?

yeah, notice the silence? we can't consider this guy or Fleck because they need to prove themselves at a bigger gig. However, Herman, with his 1.5 years in the same conference doesn't need a bigger gig. perfectly sound logic.

When the job first came open i was and i still really like Herman, I just like Fleck more now after learning more about him. I am not all or nothing on Fleck, i like several candidates...just none of them are Coach O
