Who has said that several times? This board? May be out of the loop but I have never heard that.

??? Guess I am out of the loop. I have never heard this name before - well besides Beverly Hills Cop.

How soon following the conclusion of the regular season do you think we will hear an official announcement? Does your source have any info on that? I'd assume within a week after the last game?
I would assume quickly, but assumption is the mother of all frick-ups.. i guess it depends more on what we do rather than what they are doing... if somehow we make a run to the playoffs you cant exactly make the announcement during that time..

I wonder what the percentage is for new head coaches retaining staff from previous regimes. I think they would be hesitant to not bring guys with them that had helped them reach their level of success. The success that allowed them to be considered for the new position in the first place.
Plus, in LSU's case it may not even be the new head coaches decision to make. Aranda will have no problem having a job next year whether it is in Baton Rouge or not.
if the new head coach doesnt want aranda, then i dont want him..
quote:i actually agree, with our national name now and with our resources, it shouldnt be a problem..
This should never be used as an argument against hiring a coach. Nick Saban and Urban Meyer had never coached anywhere remotely near the South. The closest Les Miles ever worked was at OK St - south maybe but not Southeast and nobody including recruits knew who the hell he was when he came to LSU. These three guys turned out to be the best recruiters in the SEC. Possibly the best ever.

Your posts are really confusing. You start a thread about a new name being brought up. Most on this board would think you mean a name/coach for the LSU HC position. But then you say "No I dont think he is anywhere close to a job like LSU."
Then you get the biggest cheerleader in the world for the current Houston coach so excited he probably wet himself. He asks you if it was from a source or your opinion. You answer him with a spiel about knowing a dude that works for a search firm that has nothing to do with the LSU coaching search.
Are you just in here trying to toot your own horn for knowing people, or were you ever trying to make a valid point?

Was this from a "source" or just your gut feeling. I missed the thread you posted this in. Thanks.
A good friend of mine works for a Executive search firm in Atlanta, they do high profile coaches/ School presidents etc.. No LSU has not hired them,

At the risk of being a "negatiger" I wasn't even considering us making the playoffs lol. An uphill battle for sure at this point

his name would be one that if LSU were to hire their firm his name would be on the list that they would give to Alleva to do research on. that is what was meant, apologies if i wasnt clear.

I actually made a bet with 4 of my co-workers that LSU would run the table in the regular season... $50 vs 2 of them, $100 for two others.. I got 3-1 odds.. I know, i should have gotten better odds, but I just go with my gut feeling, I would have felt alot better had we played florida and not lost any momentum but we did dominate Ole Miss. i would never bet against an ubber talented team, that is motivated and has nothing to lose... thats who we are with Coach O..

Well shite, how many people would be on a list like that?
If you announce each one of them like this guy, please try to be a little more specific.
quote:
Matt Rhule... Temple Head Coach.. key thing said about him was that he has built a program.. this comes from my buddy in Atlanta.
Nobody here knew who your buddy in Atlanta was or he has a relationship to LSU.
I would also tend to agree with the guy on the previous page who said:

I guess my question would be, then who gives a frick if he isn't a coaching candidate for LSU

The CC board isn't a LSU specific board

It's the coaching changes board. It's just about potential coaching changes. Not specifically LSU all the time.

My bad. In that case, I would ask the OP to specify that this is some random guy that coaches at a school in the Northeast that may be on OTHER schools lists in the event that the OTHER schools may at some time even have an opening.

I'd love to see it. I guess I'm still recovering from the last few years of disappointment lol

So after randoms post today about O likely being the guy, what are your thoughts now? You should share that with your friend/coworker and see what they say. Would be curious to know their response.

I will lose my mind with joy if Rhule is somehow hired at LSU. He is absolutely the top of my list.
