So, you disagree with your buddy??

You think it's Herman, and he says Herman is a lock to Texas. Already done, right?

I never said that, Personally i think Herman is going to Texas based on what I heard from Hermans friend, a coach at Tulsa that its his dream job.. A good friend of mine who is extremely well connected and has many rich and powerful clients told me differently. have to take my word for it, but he's not the kind of guy you question..

this was based on a thread where one of the Tulsa coaches (friends with Herman) said on a Radio show a year ago that Texas is his dream job, i simply made a thread about it.

Please define your sources and their takes on Herman. There are three sources?

Tulsa guy, Executive Search firm guy, and well connected guy?

ok

My own personal opinion is that he goes to Texas, based on what his buddy (Tulsa assitant coach) said on a radio show.

Executive search firm is not linked to LSU, they havent hired them, but what they do do is compile short list for AD's to keep in their desk, so he does this for a living.

The well connected guy (my friend and co-worker) is the one who told me that it is a guarantee that Herman is going to LSU, he even tried to make a large wager and the guy just doesn't do that type stuff, ever... His word is good enough for me and I hardly trust anyone. He is a very well connected guy, he use to pitch for the Astros, he has money, he has high profile clients in what he does and I also rent a room from him while my house is getting built... he's a guy that I just wouldnt doubt.. Ive done it before and learned the hard way not to..

How soon following the conclusion of the regular season do you think we will hear an official announcement? Does your source have any info on that? I'd assume within a week after the last game?

ZERO chance we bring in a defensive minded guy while we have Aranda on staff

I wonder what the percentage is for new head coaches retaining staff from previous regimes. I think they would be hesitant to not bring guys with them that had helped them reach their level of success. The success that allowed them to be considered for the new position in the first place.

Plus, in LSU's case it may not even be the new head coaches decision to make. Aranda will have no problem having a job next year whether it is in Baton Rouge or not.

not to mention hes never worked anywhere near the south, he wouldnt even know where to start recruiting.

This should never be used as an argument against hiring a coach. Nick Saban and Urban Meyer had never coached anywhere remotely near the South. The closest Les Miles ever worked was at OK St - south maybe but not Southeast and nobody including recruits knew who the hell he was when he came to LSU. These three guys turned out to be the best recruiters in the SEC. Possibly the best ever.

Matt Rhule... Temple Head Coach.. key thing said about him was that he has built a program..

this comes from my buddy in Atlanta.. Said his name was being thrown around for a few places, guess it means people are starting to notice what he is doing..

No I dont think he is anywhere close to a job like LSU

I guess my question would be, then who gives a frick if he isn't a coaching candidate for LSU other than Temple fans????
