In what universe is it reasonable to have a tulane grad on the LSU BOS?

you think Bama would run their shite like this? I realize this is politics, but dear God man. This is flat out embarrassing that LSU has such little clout as to avoid something as asinine as to not have LSU people on its own board for Christ sake.

I fear our problems have next to zero chance of fixing with shite like this going on in positions that have can affect the most positive change.

As much as I dislike Tulane, having people who are good at running a school and a little outside perspective aren't always a bad thing. I don't know anything about this guy but if they're qualified and effective then "one of us" shouldn't be mandatory.

Bobby Jindal is to blame, not LSU's lack of clout

It's Louisiana. Boards are for loyalty rewards, not actually managing anything.

Remember the levee boards, those were for free lunches and handing out jobs, not protecting New Orleans from floods.

You are correct and people have to start understanding this.If LSU football tanks, some on this board won't blink at all, thats the problem. this will get bad quick.

You don't seem to understand how this works.

Most of the board members aren't on the board due to their competencies or intellectualism. It works like that at other schools, where you would have scholars and individuals with PhDs on the board...but not at LSU.

Most are on the board because they helped put Jindal in power - who then reciprocated by giving them a board position.

It's all politics.

I assume you're talking about Ballard. Colleague of mine is good friends with him. I'd like to think he gives a shite.

I know several Tulane grads that follow and support LSU more than most people here.

Yeah because we used that mentality to find our coach and look how great that’s been..

We used the opposite of that mentality to find our coach. I'm saying I don't mind people on the board who aren't graduates or heavily affiliated with LSU if it is someone who will help LSU.

I have a relative that graduated from another in-state school and bleeds P&G much more than people that actually went to LSU.

there are more LSU fans at Tulane than Tulane fans. There are problems with the board, but as previous posters said in here already, its about politics and Jindal.
