If LSU decides to go get Herman this year and pays him 5.5-6mil, you can pretty much say goodbye to Jimbo ever coaching here at that point. Hear me out, this is the scenario I'm most afraid of: we land Herman because Texas doesn't have the guts to fire strong this year, in the process we close the door on Jimbo. Herman has a successful 1-2 years here before Texas throws the oil money at Herman and he leaves us high and dry, meanwhile Jimbo is pissed we didn't take him to start with. Idk guys, Herman is my #1 choice but I believe his loyalties are in Texas.

I like the long-term outlook with Jimbo better than with Herman.

Well guess what? If that happens then we will just hope we won some hardware under Herman and then go cut bait and go fishing again for a new coach.

Did Meyer go pro? You can put a $10 mil buyout like Petrino's if you are afraid Herman will go pro. He is more likely to go to UT if that job opens up than to go pro.

More likely than Jimbo, I'd say

You believe his loyalties are in Texas? Please elaborate where you get your information, besides your log showers. Thanks

unless Jimbo doesn't want to come here just yet and that's why we go for Herman

By that time there will be another good proven coach out there or an up and comer that we can go get. It'll be fine. Hot names come up every year. But I still want them to throw everything they have a Jimbo. But I'd be ok with Herman.

He'd definitely leave us when Texas comes calling. And they will come calling at some point because Strong won't win enough.

Gimme Jimbo because if he leaves FSU, you know he wants to be here.

And Dave Aranda will be ready to assume his rightful place leading our program to glorious victory.

And then Bama hires Jimbo after Satan retires.

He grew up and went to college in Cali, so it is just as likely that he goes to USC.

I will never understand why so many LSU fans have such an inferiority complex.

Why is everyone so concerned about Texas coming to get him? He was born in Ohio and raised in California. Following urban Meyer at osu seems more likely to me.

He was a GA at UT and coached in the state for the majority of his career.

If Texas fires Strong this year, which frankly I doubt, maybe he take that over LSU. But to think that he'll bolt for Texas as soon as its open is stupid. I mean, if that's the only job he wants, he'd most likely just stay at UH until it is open.
