With Woodward as talented and skilled as he is, he should never be doubted. Despite our growing concerns he is very capable of landing the big one. However as Chicken noted LSU’s timing might not be right, it certainly fell right for the Aggies and Alabama.

If timing does indeed prevent a big splash hire, then the next LSU head coach will be Napier. Because Tuckers offense is too bland, defense and resume is too suspect. Campbell and Fickell are not coming south with their families.

. Aranda is dedicated and honorable, he was dedicated to LSU, he will remain dedicated to Baylor. So welcome LSU’s new head coach Napier!

And it wouldn’t be melt worthy. I think he’d do a good job.

If we’re really offering $12 mill a year for 8 years, they won’t get far enough down the list for Napier

Well, if the TBLs and TB77 are to be believed Nap is at 3 with 2 sitting P5s and regular playoff attendees above him. If true, I’d bet on becoming a Napster.

This. If it’s Riley, Dabo then Napier I think the first two use us for pay raises and we get a damn solid coach.

If Napier is 3rd . There is a HUUUUUUGE gap between 2 and 3 as a quality of a HC .

Debatable. While Dabo has had astronomical success he’s still a CEO whereas Napier knows a side of the ball.

I’m not going to be excited about settling for ULL’s coach if Scott can’t land someone bigger. Sorry if that bothers you, master plumber.

I doubt that offer applies to anyone not named Lincoln.

why do people assume that position coaches don't know the whole side of the ball? wouldn't a wr coach need to know blocking schemes in order to teach perimeter blocking, or qb steps to teach route timing. dumb argument

Ok, I dont get all the Rapier hu rah, so I'll offer a compromise.

Lets hire the big name, big gun type like Lincoln, pay him his $8/9MM, but also hire Rapier as Asst head coach, pay him the $2MM he currently makes at USL - and be done with all this shite.

Dabo is CEO — if CEO actually fulfills his promise on hiring great coordinators & minus a midlife crisis. I don’t think his schtick plays here.

The risk of turning out boom vs. bust for these three candidates is probably a lot closer than people think.

Not that this matters, but personally... when it comes to repping LSU: Dabo is annoying & I really like both of the other guys. So it’ll probably be Dabo.

Well Dabo is 115th in CFB in scoring offense right now. By comparison LSU ranks 52nd. His QB was the #2 ranked QB behind Bama's Bryce Young. Dabo has a very good DC in Venables and rode the success of two generational QBs in Deshaun Watson and Lawrence.
