Well Dabo is 115th in CFB in scoring offense right now. By comparison LSU ranks 52nd. His QB was the #2 ranked QB behind Bama's Bryce Young. Dabo has a very good DC in Venables and rode the success of two generational QBs in Deshaun Watson and Lawrence.

Turn down Dabo then watch college football fans and national media roasts us like a Thanksgiving Day turkey.

And Dabo fired Napier for producing an offense he'd kill for this season. It was also a year after Napier's offense led to Clemson's highest point total in Clemson history.

DJ has played shockingly bad with 4TDs and 5 INTs 7 games into the season. Fans here want Max benched for 20 TDs and 5 INTs. Both had limited snaps last season as well, but with as bad as LSU has been and with a weaker supporting cast Max has 28 TDs and 6 INTs vs 9/5 TD/INT for DJ.

So Dabo? That's a no for me dawg.

Napier won't be offered the job because Napier isn't remotely qualified.

I chuckle at the Napsters who say he would crush it at LSU, completely ignoring that the year after Dabo fired him, Dabo went on to win coach of the year.

Billy needs a proving ground at a P5 school, before he is handed an elite program. Dabo recognized quickly he wasn't ready for the bigtime yet.

I agree with the statement next coach will be highest paid. I do not agree that coach will be Napier…

Timing is of no consequence with this hire. Scotty isn’t going to make his move before he and his guy are ready. While we certainly don’t want to lose recruits this year, He won’t sacrifice the biggest coaching hire of his career simply for one recruiting class.

I think if he has to a wait a little longer than he would like to get his guy, he absolutely will.

Baylor isn't going to the playoffs.

No offense to Aranda but who really has his teams beat that was big time? Not sure he is ready for Big Time college football as coach of LSU?
Now if he had baylor in the playoffs beating top 10 schools the last 2 years then maybe but has not really proven anything with who he has beaten.

Aranda and his ranked Baylor team are playing against Texas in Austin. Well worth a a watch.

wouldn't a wr coach need to know blocking schemes in order to teach perimeter blocking, or qb steps to teach route timing.

That’s still different than coordinating an offense and especially calling plays.

It’s an advantage to have a HC with experience as a coordinator so you’re not totally reliant on going 2/2 with coordinator hires.

Dabo has been beyond blessed to have a top 3 DC stay with him for so long. I often wonder if he has no desire to be HC.

I don’t think Venables wants to be a HC either

What’s interesting is that O’s defenses at USC weren’t… all terrible, but I suspect Monte Kiffin played a role there.

He's only won consistently and has established a great program, by all accounts. Maybe you could explain your reasoning for the "shiny" hire over a good one.

I just wouldn’t think 10-12 mil would be necessary to pull Napier here. Riley, Fickell, etc then yes you’ll need to put that up to get those guys attention. But Napier could be had for much cheaper I would think

You're right, but you'll be downvoted into oblivion because he's a Saban clone according to some....He coached at Bama for three years as a WR coach and he's going to replicate the best college football coach in history and win 14 championships in a row. Haven't you heard?
