If Saban, Urban, Gruden had the same flimsy accusations UT fans would be all in

This is not that complicated. The "rage" at the Pedo State allegations is simply an excuse to deny a hire they don't like.

Maybe some fans truly believe the allegations but I guarantee 90 percent of them would be claiming how baseless they were if it was a guy they wanted.

Fans are retarded. To their credit though, they used an ethically questionable way to get the desired result. The reward may be even worse though.

I think the majority of Vol fans would admit that. Their fearless leader Clay Travis certainly does.

The bottom line:

Schiano was not worthy enough in their mind.

I don't know man. When you're dealing with a topic like this I don't even think winning can cure being anywhere close to a topic like this. If someone is a coach that was even on the same staff as Sandusky, I would not want that coach at my favorite school or even in my favorite conference if at all possible.

UT would hire Paterno tomorrow if he was still alive and could win 10 games

I think Schiano would have done well at UT.
Tenn would have been a lot tougher team on the field.
Those Bucs teams even under Schiano were tough and physical.

Even if he had no knowledge of what was going on? That's ridiculous.

Some ill informed poster will be along shortly to tell you that Schiano watched Sandusky rape kids in the shower then covered it up.

Of course. The real gripe was a .500 coach in the big east who used the same hokey slogan motivation that Butch used.

The pedo stuff was the best and maybe only way they could have blown the thing up.

Vol fans didn't want Schiano, and I don't blame them. Maybe the Tenn. AD should have gauged the fans interest before springing Schiano on them....This is all the AD's fault.

Had a day to think about it. I agree, this is selective outrage.

Talk about not having your finger on the pulse of the program.

I bet Currie is still in a catatonic “wtf just happened” state right now. He probably has to be led around at this point.

For the record, I think schiano is a shitty coach and a terrible fit at Tennessee. He has no personality and is a total self important douche.

What kind of world do you live in that there has to be a single reason?

This guy has a shady past and on top of that is a dog shite coach. No other program was throwing him a life line until do no wrong urban meyer decided too.

To come here and compare this to others and say the TN fan base reasons were baseless is out of touch.

The real gripe makes them look dumb as frick. The dude turned Rutgers around. The last time they had the same amount of success they were an independent playing mostly Ivy League schools and schools that would eventually form the Patriot League. LINK

its a virtue signaling opportunity now.

in the SJW world we live in, his HC potential is over at least for the next 3 years. probably forever.

his resume would be better off if UT never tried to hire him
