OM definitely needs to keep him throughout; as for us, I would still want the coach to stay through. It's too special to throw away

If the coach has some integrity.. absolutely. If Lane Kiffin or James Franklin then absolutely not. They will spend their time convincing best players to transfer and follow them.

No. You gotta do what’s best for the program health even if it means the season is soured.

The problem is… LSU can always contend….. this may be Ole Miss’ only chance this century

I don't think you can let him stay if you are OM with the signing and portal window being open through the playoffs now. Recruits and transfers wouldn't know who the Ole Miss coach would be.

You don't sacrifice a title shot. Ever.

Winning a title does more for a program than being late to the HC search harms a program.

If we are getting Lane - I would wait as long as he needed.

Even if it messes up next year - I have faith that he would get it rolling.

Yes. Short term thing to fill a long term coaching position.

What if that is the only way Lane will come to LSU.

I think this is likely something Lane asked LSU for, and Florida.

"I'd like to finish this run. Are you good with that? Keep in mind Ole Miss may tell me to hit the road, but if they don't I want LSU to allow me to finish the season."

I think Ole Miss will tell him to walk. That's a standard practice at most places, and you don't want your outgoing coach to spend several more weeks around your program and have conversations with players, etc.

On the LSU side it doesn't bother me. I'm talking about on the OM side. How could you recruit players and entertain transfers if you don't know who your coach is?

Yeah, I don't see OM letting him stay around.

When every season is free agency for players, absolutely not.

In the world of NIL and free transfers you can’t. You don’t want him working players to follow him while he’s there.

If a sales guy changes jobs to a competitor you don’t let him keep working with the clients. He walks out with a box.
