really who can say right now until the season plays out. Of course right now it is to soon to give coach O serious consideration for the job. Of course if a minor miracle were to occur, and LSU won out the rest of there games, coach O's stock would skyrocket and I would think that even his detractors would come around to say that he should be given serious consideration. It's such long odds though that it probably isn't even worth discussing at this time. NO would deny that he has great coaching skills if he were to pull that off. It would go down as one of the greatest turnarounds in the history of sports and movies would probably be made about it. What further proof would be needed? Of course this is just fairy tale talk.

I am not cherry picking. I admit he was horrible at Ole Miss, but coaching is a "what have you done for me lately"; hence the reason Miles was fired even though his overall record was awesome.
I would argue being an interim coach is harder than people give credit. He did better with USC than Kiffen was doing with the same staff and players. He is doing better (so far) than Miles was doing with the same players. He only had days to make these adjustments, not an entire off season. Yet we still have witnessed a huge difference.
And you are correct, he hasn't done it multiple seasons or gotten a head coach position at another school. That is the kind of stuff you figure out researching and interviewing the candidate.
And honestly I have other candidates higher on my wish list that O for some of the EXACT things you mentioned. I just prefer to let the season play out

I'm going to say at best he coaches at a mid-major, but most likely goes back to the a DC at a big school. There's is 0% chance he is a head coach at a Power 5 School outside of LSU. 0%.

That's fair, but even in 4 weeks time, we still don't have comparable evidence. No matter what, O has not run a successful program for a long period of time.

I have an agenda as to why he would be a horrific pick as the new head coach. Like I said before he is and will be terrific as an interim head coach because of his energy/ skill set and him changing things up a bit, that energy can last the rest of the year for sure. when Miles was fired and O was hired I expected us to go on a tear but I was afraid that people would think he is the savior, alas that is happening.. LSU is extremely talented he doesnt have to do much to be extrememly successful, all he has done was change the formations up and he is still running the same plays.. Im sorry but that is not the reason you give a top 6-7 job in the country to a guy with a terrible head coaching record at his previous stop.. He is a great guy, great passion and energy, loves LSU but he is not what is best for LSU in the long term..

I agree, lets see it unfold, but like i said, i could see him running the table in the regular season with the new energy he has brought to the team. thats why i asked the question that i asked in another thread i started, got alot of the answers i expected.. many emotional answers and not alot of rational ones..
I see us beating Bama and everyone else. I think we are that talented.. this one is going to be close but I think we pull it out.. got my tickets and ill actually be one of the ones staying in the 4th quarter.

if we beat Bama, we are the hottest team in the nation.. who in the hell would want to play us?
Florida was already scared, i wished we would have played that game to keep the momentum going, that was what i was afraid of, but it looks like we kept it vs Ole Miss..
never mess with a streak..
