I don't think there was a unified 'fan' opinion.
I know this: I wanted a 'proven' coach. I never expected LSU to hire Orgeron as the permanent head coach.
If I knew then what I know now, I would have stumped for Aranda. I think Dave Aranda is the most capable man to be HC on the current staff.
