Do they go the coordinator route again, go after a HC?

They've had success with the last two defense minded coaches they hired.

Throw out Mason's transition year and between Franklin and Mason the program is above 500 with 5 bowl appearances.

Vandy is a great stepping stone school for a coordinator to jump to HC and then on to a better gig.

- SEC
- No pressure to win the conference
- Get bowl eligible and you are golden
- Get bowl eligible 2 or 3 times and the better gigs come looking for you.

This being said....great place for Aranda to begin

Bobby Petrino is worth a shot. He has proven he can do good at little 6 SEC programs .

Matt Canada could be a decent choice.

Give me someone young who doesn't plan on being here in 4-5 years. I'm fine with being a stepping stone.

Seth Littrell
Neal Brown
Mike Norvell
Josh Heupel

Either that or just try to be like Georgia Tech (was) and hire Ken Niumatalolo.

Truth be told, we'd probably go the coordinator route.

Aranda would probably be a good fit.

I agree Bobby Petrino is a POS but he is great coach that would be cheap. His baggage would give them a chance to actually keep him.

I think Fritz would be a homerun hire for them, winner everywhere he has been and will run whatever is necessary to win. Texas, Louisiana, Georgia, pretty good states to cut your teeth coaching in before moving up to a Power 5 job. He also brings staff continuity, he is very loyal which at a place like Vandy is needed, he just fired his OC which is his first staff turnover in 3 years at Tulane.

Nick Satan, who wants to prove himself able to actually coach.

He’s not going to Vandebilt. Same challenges he has at Tulane in a much more difficult conference. “Power five job” = form over substance- good gracious
