It all comes down to if he wants to keep coaching a small time college team that plays in a high school stadium.

How many 68,000 capacity high school stadiums are there?

I don't think Ole Miss is poor

I don't think it can compete with a bidding war with a school 3x its size without really hurting itself somewhere else, though.

That applies to all but a few of us and includes Ole Miss, AU and LSU to varying degrees.

You do realize you’re not exceeding what we have right?
Saw a booster gave 30 million to poach him got it. I’m not sure if you’re aware but it’s gonna take a lot more than 30 million to poach him. Potentially 100,000,000.

However, at Ole Miss, we already had the funds to pay him so the 20 million is in addition to what we’re already paying him and it’s just walking around money. So we will match whatever offer he gets with our normal funds, but in addition to those normal funds, there’s an extra fund of 20 million that’s just to ensure that everything goes as according to plan.

There's no real reason for him to rush to sign an extension at the moment even if he fully intends to stay at Ole Miss. He can let his agent use Florida, LSU, and Auburn to drive up the price then go to Ole Miss and ask them to match the top number or give him their best and final offer.

LSU should drive up the cost just to break Ole Miss.

Objectively speaking I think he either stays or goes to Florida for big money. No state income tax, strong talent base, and way more options for free time than Miss. or Louisiana. Yeah you could say he can fly anywhere but still.

Outside of tradition the gap between LSU and Florida isn’t that big in my opinion. Just the way it is. Not what I want.

Let the downvotes pour in.

So is LSU doesn't stop them from buying out a 50 million+ contract. Happens when you have deep pocket boosters.

Not far off lol 2
12 of the wildest high school football stadiums in Texas
The biggest high school stadium in Texas is Eagle Stadium in Allen, which has a capacity of 22,000 people and is one of the most expensive high school stadiums in the nation. Opened in 2012, the $82.2 million facility is a state-of-the-art venue for the Allen High School football team and other events.

Why would he sign an extension right now when he has every opportunity to make his price tag sky rocket? The more he wins the more it forces either someone to throw obscene numbers at him or bend Ole Miss over for an extension. If he's deep in the playoffs imagine the bidding war.

What they don’t understand is that at some point money isn’t the biggest factor!!!

Doesn’t matter. No one wants to live in Oxford forever. He”” never get a second chance to turn down LSU or Florida. Ever. Ole Miss hasn’t won a National Championship in 65 years for a reason. Recruits don’t want to go there.

Ole Miss is definitely not poor, but they have no where near the resources as LSU and Florida. It’s just a fact. May have nothing to do with Kiffin’s decision in the end though.

And please enlighten us as to how you know what resources Ole Miss has at its disposal. Again look at an objective metric, NIL. Ole Miss actually has a better NIL than Florida. The game has changed but not everyone changed with the times.
