If all the talks are true and Woodward is hangin his entire career on THIS hire,

there aint no damn way he does that for Mark fricking Stoops. Downvote all you want but that aint a guy you base your entire career on.

That last AD hung his career hire on Ed Orgeron, so at least its a step in the right direction.

I think Vol was just making an example of the type of hire we’re looking at. Either way it’s a bit depressing true or not. Don’t think it’s dead set on just Stoops

Yeah, given the alleged verifiable information we do have: Woodward's track record, firing Orgeron mid season and paying full buyout, offering $100 + million, and the list of top shelf candidates that were contacted... I just don't buy it and I'm almost more convinced that the hire will be big.

Mark Stoops is a damn good coach. Why LSU fans think they are above him is beyond me. He’s done a phenomenal job at a place like Kentucky

I know you all are all spun up about Lincoln “can’t win in the playoffs” Riley, but objectively Stoops has done a more impressive job at Kentucky.
He’d be a guy who could legitimately win a NC at a place like LSU

He ain't sexy like his older brother 's protege. But given his success at a place where football is an afterthought to football he is very good.

And?
He’s the HC at Kentucky and took over at one of their lowest points. It’s a very difficult place to win, and they were at rock bottom when he got there. He built them correctly and sustainably. He elevated their recruiting and record. He’s got a lot of experience. I think he’s be a very good hire and do really well at a place like LSU
