I wanted Coach O to be the guy. I guess I was wearing blinders by wanting him. I wanted to think he fixed everything. He is one of us and I thought it would be great for a LA guy to take over. I have not been so excited for LSU football in a long time.
BUT, I feel he showed Sat that if he does not have a great OC that can change the game plan during the game he wouldn't be able to contribute any ideas either. I understand he did not get to pick the current OC but he wasn't able to change the plan on the fly. Honestly from what I saw it just looked the same as what we saw with Miles. Something was not working but he didn't know how to change our strategy.
I am not saying I know who should be our next HC but I was wrong in thinking it should be Coach O.

Solid post my friend
I have nothing against Coach O.. love the guy... You will not find very many, if any, LSU fans who do not love Coach O and hope he would be willing to stay on under the new HC.. But he is not the guy

Bobby Petrino plus Dave Aranda wins lots of games at LSU.

Glad you saw the light

They're stuck using an outdated offensive system based off of the power run game and slow developing play action and have no time to change it in the middle of the season. It causes way too much stress on the offensive line if you can't successfully run the football. It's doomed from the start against any team with elite edge pass rushers.
No coach could have saved LSU's offense Saturday. I'm not a huge supporter of O' compared to some, but I do recognize that making a decision based on this one game is foolish.

It's foolish to believe he couldnt have made ANY changes. In fact, changes had already been implemented against Mizzou and OM...
He CHOSE not to run that plays.

I like coach o just like everyone else, but he can't change the offense in 3-4 weeks. Many have commented on les and maybe grimes going after guards instead of traditional tackles. I say all that to say thats not on CEO. Ceo has stated he wants to bring in a pro-style system and I would think he would bring in traditional tackles for the offensive line. Everybody wants a offensive mined cisch but I think saban and strong even though texas defensive has struggled and tcu showed if you bring in a offensive cd you can turn a bad offense around. Our defense is playing lights out and can only get better with the youth. I think CEO will get the absolute best out of our players and recruit at a high level

You weren't blinded at all. You had the right viewpoint of liking what you saw and that he should have been considered. On the flip side, you had people who said no matter what he should not be the coach.
I think it's apparent he is no longer someone that controlled his own destiny. He played bama close but it's more apparent that the new coach will be an outsider with an offensive mindset or even Aranda.
Props for him.

Awesome! He gets all the credit for breaking those offensive records his first couple weeks but none of the blame when we look like lost puppy's out there
Look behind you, there's a string attached to your back and Oregeron is the one pulling at it

Derek Goebbles has already gotten the media to move the goal posts for O, it went from O needed to win out to just competing with Bama. He's now pushing the narrative that Arkansas is the true test for O.
the offense looking so punch-less was a body blow for O and his followers though
