I tried to make myself be excited for Riley, but down deep I never really was.

I feel zero disappointment that we aren’t getting Riley. I don’t think he was a good fit for LSU or the SEC. I wanted Aranda and still hope we get him. Or someone like him. We need solid, stable, and a program builder who takes the stupid and drama out of the equation and trains the Tigers to get back to love of the game and to fight for each other every day of the year. I don’t think that is Riley.

Woodward better have his man, though.

Same here. It would be a great hire on paper for an AD and acknowledged that, but I think his price tag isn’t worth it

Agreed the man has constantly lost the big game his whole head coaching career at Oklahoma. Walk through a soft conference lose when he meets a big opponent.

By that logic, you still want Ed since he won it all in the SEC

We will always talk ourselves into and out of anything.

He would have crushed it here, IMO. He was exactly what I always wanted at LSU. A QB guru that constantly gets top QBs.

Dude's not even the best coach in Oklahoma. Never was excited!

0 and 3 in the playoffs when he played real competition instead of weak Big 12 teams.
Not a fan of Riley

He took the easier route to stay in the race every year but will fail just the same there. I’m glad it’s over with him. Let’s go get a coach that wants to be in the very best conference.

He was always an exciting hire but he has flaws. They can't ever turn around the defense there.

I would’ve been extremely excited but I had serious questions about his ability to come into the SEC and consistently play physical football and run an elite program. I didn’t see it happening, but we need a guy who can make us nationally relevant again really bad right now so it would’ve been worth it.

The story about frustration with his soft practices really made me nervous after I saw what happened with Ed. It’s not a secret that Oklahoma has been outgunning and out-talenting other teams in the dog shite Big 12 for a while
