I think people forget that he coached at Raiders, Tennessee and USC in his mid 30’s. He made mistakes. More focus has been on his overall record than his ability to flourish when he had the talent.

Historically maybe but he's never had a golden opportunity like LSU. And yes I'm counting USC.

If he wins at LSU who the hell is he gonna leave for.

I don't want Kiffin because he's inconsistent. I could see him screwing up in the playoffs if he even makes them.

based on what? What in his past says he can put together 2 good seasons in a row?

people say he is a great recruiter, based on what?his great classes at OM? the one thats currently #27? the one last year that finished in the teens and #6 in conference? or the 2020 that was #12 in the conference?

or was it fau where he was only able to sign 1 four star kid ever? hell one year out of the 3 at fau he finished 3rd in conf usa in recruiting.

and what the hell makes you think that he can put together back to back successful seasons?

at UT- barely above 500 his one year

usc-
year 1- mediocre to bad
year 2- great
year 3- bad(lost last 4 conference games)
year 4- bad and fired after opening conf with 2 losses (6 in a row overall)

FAU-
year 1- great
year 2- bad- losing season
year 3- great

OM-
year 1- bad- 500
year 2- great
year 3- without Corral yea chaulk that one up to bad

he is an OC pretending to be a HC. he doesnt pay attention to the details when it comes to anything but offense.

again i am fine with Lane and he would be fun, but lets not make him out to be anything more than he is and his record shows he is exactly who we always thought he was, an immature amazing OC.

granted i will take anyone over MR .500 James Franklin

You don't pay 17 million to get rid of of one dipshit, then hire his egotistical dipshit protege.

17 years of dumbshits on the sideline. It's time to grow up.

If Woodward makes the idiotic mistake of letting Lane Kiffin remain at Ole Miss, it won't be long at all before Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss will not only be beating LSU on the recruiting trail, but also on the football field every year.

Hence, Woodward better steal Lane Kiffin away from Ole Miss to make him the new head football coach of LSU. If Woodward doesn't steal Lane Kiffin away from Ole Miss, then it means that Woodward is terribly incompetent.

Sure Lane Kiffin has some skeletons in his closet, but so does all the other candidates as well. Lane Kiffin's skeletons are just more publicized because they happened on a bigger stage.

Nonetheless, there isn't a better coach in America to coach up Garrett Nussmeier and Walker Howard. As Lane Kiffin either has the best offensive mind in college football or if not, he is at least in the top-three that's for sure.

I mean, if Lane Kiffin isn't hired, LSU fans 30 years from now will be looking back and saying, "you know, LSU had the perfect opportunity to hire Lane Kiffin, but made the stupid mistake of hiring someone else? I mean, how stupid could the administration at LSU have been back then?"

Not to mention that Lane Kiffin is on Ed Orgeron's level on the recruiting trail.

What do you mean? Had I been in Kiffin shoes, I would have left Tennessee's garbage disposal for USC too and especially because that's where Kiffin cut his teeth. Give me a break.

In fact, Kiffin would have stayed at USC forever had he not fricked up.

Then when he went to work for Saban, no one expected Kiffin to stay as long as he ended up staying.

While everyone in the world, except for you, knew the Florida Atlantic job was a stepping stone until Kiffin could find a better job.

The Ole Miss job is a stepping stone job too.

However, if Woodward steals Kiffin away from Ole Miss to make him the new head football coach at LSU, Kiffin will remain at LSU for many years because there are no better jobs for him to leave LSU for.

Not to mention, that Kiffin isn't the only head coaching candidate with skeletons in the closet. Kiffin's are just more visible because they happened on a bigger stage. Nonetheless, he has more than rehabilitated himself via his stint with Nick Saban and his successes at both Florida Atlantic and at Ole Miss.

As Kiffin is more than qualified and rehabilitated enough to become the next head coach of LSU, and if Woodward passes up this opportunity to acquire Kiffin from Ole Miss, it will mean that Woodward is terribly incompetent and LSU and Woodward will both live to regret it.

Well we’ve had an OL coach and a DL coach pretending to be a HC for the past 17 seasons and that got us two national championships.

So personally I’m extremely open to the idea of an “amazing OC”, in your words, having a go at running the program for a few year to see how that goes.

I breathe perfectly fine. As it is a no brainer, Kiffin is the only suitable candidate to become the next head coach of LSU. None of the other candidates are in Kiffin's league.

That's why we aren't hiring from that league anymore.

That would be awesome for 3 years until he left us for the New York Giants, or Alabama, or like the Lakers or something weird.

Kiffin isn't the only head coaching candidate with skeletons in the closet. As they all have skeletons in the closet.

The only difference is Kiffin's skeletons are a little more publicized and visible because they happened on a bigger stage.

Everybody makes mistakes and virtually everyone learns from their mistakes. Kiffin is no different than anyone else. Meanwhile, Kiffin's successes at Alabama, Florida Atlantic, and at Ole Miss prove Kiffin has learned very well from his previous mistakes.
