this team is ready to win big right now, our last 3 classes have been ranked 3,6, and 2. we can win titles in the next few years, we need to focus on that and sell out to do it.
Jimbo can win a title with Etling and Brennan, who is making a great case to be the best QB in this class.
a peerless source on 24/7 says Orgeron locks up Moses, Marvin Wilson, K'Lavon Chaisson, and maybe Cam Akers, if he's retained. thats a number 1 class (Miles only had one number 1 class, in 2009, btw).
dont delude yourself, saban only wins as much as he does because the REC has bought him 6 straight number 1 classes. all other things being equal, an overwhelming amount of pure physical talent will always be the deciding factor. Orgeron can get us on a level field there.
the last thing we need is some total outsider doing some massive overhaul. worrying about 2026 is like worrying about zombies. I'll deal with that shite if and when it actually becomes a problem.

Yes his preperation and attention to detail has absolutely nothing to do with it.
We have more players in the pros than Bama does. Yet look at where they are and where we are.
The primary difference between their recruiting classes and our has been at LB and OL. We don't get five star recruits in those positions. Bama does.

Again, you've never answered the question I've posed as to why LSU should be the proving ground of O's redemption. Why shouldn't he get a head coaching job elsewhere and work his way up, like literally every other head coach?

If that don't epitomize the vast majority of what is wrong with the state of Louisiana, I don't know what else could. I grew up and lived in Louisiana until my late 20's. I love the state and still return when I can to visit family and to enjoy all that is good about it. But everyone knows, there are big problems with the governance and leadership in the state.
I live in Texas now and guess what, they give a f**k about 10 years from now. Trust me, it works much better. Short sightedness in the football program is part of the reason Miles was retained for so long. I would give up every recruit currently committed to LSU and every member of the coaching staff in order to get the right coach who can lead LSU for the next decade. Anything less than that is being incredibly stupid but not a surprise given how things are done at LSU. Thanks for the reminder of how not to do it.

can you imagine after the clusterfrick of how last season ended and how this one started if we won it all with CEO as interim HC?
then we bring in jimbo to win more? but doubtful that happens if CEO wins it all. would have to keep him then and give him a shot. I could live with that ONLY if he wins it all this year.

basing our hire on what some 18 year olds may or may not do is fricking stupid. You hire the best candidate and let the recruiting chips for this year fall where they may.

So Coach O is the only coach in the world where the past record of success is not indicative of future success. That is literally the basis of what coaching jobs are judged on.
I urge you to read Meat Market by Feldman and see that O is out of his element. He talks a good game, but he's recruiting you right now, in a sense.
I'll support whoever we hire, but if it is Coach O, I think it will be an unmitigated disaster.

Id rather actually win a title in 2017 than plan to win one in 2025.
