I don't get the infatuation with Lane Kiffin.

He's never won a NC as a HC. He's never built a program and sustained over a period of time. He's a guy that will come in and win some games for 2-3 years then leave for someplace else. He tries to be Spurrier-like and post snarky comments, but fails to back them up. Like saying "Get your popcorn ready" before the Bama game, then got his arse handed to him.
He should focus on being a better all around coach, his defenses are never up to the standards of his offenses. He just seems more adept at making quips, than getting his programs to an elite status, and keeping it there for any amount of time.

He can’t recruit either. How long does he last in the SEC with 38th classes?

You have no idea what you are talking about. Go look at how many places he "left" from that weren't sure fire step ups. It isn't what you think it is. (Hint: It's only 1).

Name one place that he ever built a CONSISTENT winner. Just ONE!!
Fickell has built something at Cincinnati. He's been there 5 years. Name one place KIffin stayed for 5 years, and had that type of success?

It’s just like Tom Herman and all of the other failed coaches who certain people on the board absolutely needs right this second or the search is a failure. They want offense and they want it now, even if the candidate is worse than Ed Orgeron in terms of being a frickup, hasn’t ever done anything remotely notable in like 10 years as a head coach, is flaky and would probably leave in 2 years, and doesn’t really seem to know how to recruit/run a program/make good decisions on DC. We still want that offense!!!

I disagree.
Kiffin is a great offensive coach, and fits the new mold of college football like a glove.
He would have killed at LSU.

What is a consistent winner? How many years? At what threshold?

Then 11 his last year. 3 years, 27-13. 2 11 win seasons and 2 conference championships.

I’d love Kiffin as an OC. I just don’t want him running my program. He’s a damn good OC though. He’s just an entitled douchebag so he fits right in with the Ole Miss culture.

Kiffin’s behavior/attitude was never going to work with Woody. Kiffin is the type person to do some rash, spur of the moment dumb thing to get him in trouble...

He won more games in 3 years at FAU than that program won the 8 years combined before that lol

There's only 4 current HC that have. So you saying you'd rather have Mack Brown than Lane Kiffin at this point

Kiffin hasn't meaningfully won at ANY of his stops. He's easily the most overrated coach in CFB. I also don't get the infatuation.
ETA. for whatever reason, fanbases just eat up that he's a good OC and kind of a dickhead

We just want a bad arse offense like his. It's that simple. We were nervous to hire him as head coach because he's so immature emotionally. We do want his offense though.

This is just stupid and shows you have unrealistic expectations. What did Saban win before coming to LSU?One of only 4 coaches that has won a NC is Fisher and most of the tards on this site shite on him or try to discount the NC by saying he only won because of a player he recruited and developed as if that doesn't count.

Saban coached at MSU for FIVE years. Name a school where Kiffin was HC for 5 years. Saban led the 1999 (final season) Spartans to a 9–2 season that included wins over Notre Dame, Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State. He then came to LSU.
