With teams built by different coaches. I'll definitely give him some credit for the 9-2 record, but let's not act like being the interim for half a season is the same as building a program through recruiting season to the bowl game, for several years.

The only true HC job he has was 10 years ago, which is the most comparable metric we have to go on.

It would break my heart to see him have that kind of success only to not be offered the job by the school he loves so much.

There isn't a coach in the country that feels the way Ed O does about LSU.

Okay nevermind, not arguing with you. I see it's all about emotion and not resume.

Carry on with your destruction of LSU football...

EASILY.

#2 is Brian Kelly

And I'd rather Aranda than Orgeron.

O out of these three by a mile.

I don't think chip Kelly would be able to play the SEC recruiting game very well at all. It's an arms race down here and I think he'd get sick of the shite quickly. P would flourish in it if he has a legitimate Offensive coordinator.

Recruiting is obviously a very important facet of building a winning program. However, you can find good recruiters far more easily than you can find an offensive mind like Chip Kelly.

Picking a HC primarily because he can recruit well is a mistake.

No it isn't
recruiting is the lifeblood of your program.
Saban is not the best gameday coach or even best at x and o s especially against spread offenses but he's the best recruiter of all time

I doubt very seriously if O would be a better recruiter than Les. And we know how that worked out.

I'd rather have a recruiter and a schemer.

These people are legitimately retarded.

The Cult of O was extremely predictable, but obviously pretty stupid.

Chip Kelly destroyed the NCAA at freaking Oregon. He had far inferior talent and just raped teams. The guy is a legitimate Offensive genius.

Saying he doesn't like recruiting...so what? He still did it and he did get talent to Oregon, which is pretty hard. His name along would get serious top tier talent, and I'm sure he would get recruiters for the South in place. We aren't talking about Curly Hallman here. Kelly is a huge name that kids will line up to play for.

Orgeron is a fun character, but I couldn't give two fricks how much he loves LSU. Get the best coach, period.

I also seem to remember Oregon pulling several 5 star guys from Texas.
