or maybe that's got legs. He's a competitive guy and as such would most likely want to coach in the toughest conference.

at LSU, where Pelini enjoyed immense popularity during his 2005-07 stint as the Tigers' defensive coordinator.

this dude obviously hasn't heard of the rant...

Yeah, but the Rant was wrong. Except for the Tennessee game in 2005 and the Kentucky and Arkansas games in 2007, he was really solid.

The team kind of fell apart when he left and Nebraska has greatly improved. I think that kind of tells you all you need to know about Pelini.

SO how many of ya'll would take Pelini if Miles were to leave which i dont think he does.

Chief( if he got to stay) and Pelini working on defense. It would be unstoppable in my opinion.

Uh, the '05 opener @ASU wasn't a defensive masterpiece either.

Agree that his defenses performed well for the most part.

Just don't see him leaving NU unless he's pushed out, which ain't happening to what will surely be a 11-2 coach.

i'll pass. the SEC figured his defense out late in 07 and his D was taking on water big time

Looks like Harbaugh will go to SF in the NFL. Who else does Michigan have on their radar?

Good catch ...they are 10-3 headed into the Holiday Bowl, sure to finish 11-3.

Bring in a guy to just be the CEO. Gotta keep Frank. Gotta keep all the guys on the defensive side of the ball.

But I see Hoke getting the Michigan job before Miles

His defense was getting worse towards the end of every season.

That was his first game and it was on the road against a quality team right after Katrina. I actually give the coaching staff a pass on that game as well as the Tennessee game, but the fact that Rick Clausen did what he did in the second half in Tiger Stadium bothered me more than the ASU game.

And yes, I see Katrina as an excuse and don't mind saying so for those first couple of games.

Still, considering all that, the defense finished #3 in the country that year. That is pretty amazing.

The 2006 defense was incredible.

2007, there were a lot of injuries. By the time we got completely healthy, we made Ohio State look ridiculous, minus that first run that Steltz took a bad angle on.

Overall, I think he did a good job. Compare that to the job he's done at Nebraska and I'd be happy to have Pelini back.

Would rather see Gary Patterson. But Bo has brought NU back from the dead. He has proven himself since leaving. You would have to get ready for a different attitude from the head coach on the sidelines.

his defense was great if we were playing Vandy or someone that he wasn't scared of the QB/skill players. He'd bring all his big bully blitzes and we'd look great.

Then against anybody with a pulse on offense and he'd play the corners 18 yards off the WRs and play the most simple base defense relying on having NFL first rounders all over the defense to save his arse. I'm still amazed he had the guts to blitz VT even with their garbage QB.

The fact that he and Miles each mentally checked out to day dream about their future dream jobs during Arkansas week 2007 should alone keep him from ever getting the LSU job.

Katrina is definitely a great reason to play 20 yards off the WRs against 2 QBs with pea shooter arms.
