And the talent gap between Nebraska/Texas wasn't that large... Callahan wasn't a good coach, but he pulled in a lot of top ranked classes.

That's my point though, he hasn't beaten many teams with the same or more talent. He's playing against mediocre talent in the Big XII North.

Being from Iowa, and my Dad is a Husker follower, their fan sites have been worse than ours about being fed up with Pelini and his antics. I'm not saying 100% or even 85% of the fans dislike Pelini but many, many in that area are pretty frustrated with him.

My point is that people are jumping on the guy for how he's performing in his first head coaching gig like Les had no faults in his.
Both are good coaches, and both have proven to be able to rebuild Big XII programs. Both also have their faults. To act like Les in 2005 is well beyond Pelini right now is comical.
Les made his career at LSU, not his first head coaching gig at OSU.
In the end, LSU will not have a sure fire replacement if Les Miles moves on somewhere at this point, but attacking Pelini for succeeding against weak competition is an utter joke.
Harbaugh is beloved on this site by many as a great potential head coach yet has coached in an awful Pac-10 with only 2 wins against teams with winning records in his BEST year (3 if you want to count UW post-bowls).
