How will he do against Saban, Kirby, Kiffin, Jimbo, and Napier? Only included Napier because of Florida and recent search relevance.

How will he recruit?
Will he be able to lock down the state?
Will he be able to pull a few of the boys from up north? Some of the O line man he gets ups there would be nice down here.

Will he get a Natty before retirement?
Any coaches on his staff he plans to bring down?
Any coaches on our staffs he wants to keep?

He seems like a tough SOB.

With Big Boy talent he will do just fine. I can see him whipping Jimbo's arse every year and doing it with a smug smile on his face.

No doubt! This is one of the things that really impresses me about him. He’s tough, no BS, guy that you can tell will get in that arse if you slack off or screw up, but not like Ogre and trying to fistfight everyone. He’s a professional guy and coach which is very refreshing after the last 15 years!

There is one big boy and an almost big boy on that list. Kiffin, Jimbo, and Napier do not qualify.

Good and he’s not afraid to sit at the big boy table like some guys. I think he wants to be in the mix against the best teams well in and week out.

THIS! Seems like it’s been so long since we’ve had something like that after the last two coaches

If he can pull top ten classes at Notre Dame with their academic requirements then will have no issues getting elite classes at LSU

You gotta figure this played a big part in his decision.

That’s true and we’ve already got a good start as Howard is definitely excited about him.

The Paul Mainieri of football. He might win one but for the most part I think we’ll get a lot of 9/10 win seasons and no hardware as long as Saban’s around. They’re gonna eat this dude up at TJ Ribs

We hired a caveman who ripped his shirt off and slugged himself in the face. He won a Natty. I think Kelly will be just fine.

This hire will put us right where we, the LSU family, want and deserve to be in CFB. We’re headed back to the top of the SEC and country consistently. He is a man’s man, imo. He will stand behind LSU and our program and will force us to be respected again. No antics, business. His recruiting will go out the roof without the academic qualifications he has faced. I’m looking forward to those recruiting numbers shift and improve for LSU before NSD. It’s gonna be a fun ride, glad Woodward came through!

Gotta keep Joseph and Raymond. Period.
I think Jones could get a shot too but that's Aranda stlyle defense in the 3-4/5 and I don't know what BK prefers.

He’s the winningest HC in ND history and has been to the CFP twice and possibly again this year. He already IS at the big boy table.

Let’s hope the advantages LSU brings puts him over the top.

I think he'll do fine considering the last 2 LSU reps at the "big boys table" were man children who still frick the other guys at the table wives and made them watch (but Mullen enjoyed it).
