Who cares about dynasties 80 years ago? How is LSU not mentioned in the same light as some of these programs that had their best years half a century ago? If BK gets a ring or two is LSU officially Blue Blood?

Thought i posted this on tRant. My bad

The same reason they say Brian kelly isn't a "cultural fit".

Yeah if Kelly wins another ring or 2, I think you can finally put LSU up in that upper echelon of the CFB blue bloods no doubt.

I mean hell, you could make a case for us having the second best program in the nation for the last 2 decades now.

Maybe Barry Switzer will take over and lead OU to their first national championship in over 20 years.

You're a blue blood when 20 years has passed since your last of multiple championships. So LSU has to wait until 2039. Bama and Osu are the exceptions.

How about not wanting to be a blue blood? I want to be a purple blood.

It doesn’t bother me at all, I simply stated a fact that Oklahoma hasn’t won a national championship in over 20 years. Sorry for your projecting.

Well Blue Blood is long term consistent success and high peaks without many bottoms. Clemson can win the next ten titles and won't be a blueblood. It's a measure of time more than anything else.

Not sure why it bothers anyone that LSU isn't lumped in with them. It is established its currently a top 3 job probably. Let's just enjoy that.

Well considering you told OP to chill about calling LSU a blue blood after winning another ring or 2, I simply stated the team you root for, hasn’t won a natty in 20 years. Anything I said false??

never, blue blood means you won championships in the 50s and 60s. Doesn't matter if you have ever been good since.

Its almost like a generation thing like Gen X/Boomers. If you were great at that time, you are forever a blue blood. If you weren't, you will never be.

In the end, it doesn't matter. Nearly everyone who enjoyed watching those teams play are dead now. We are great today and that is all that matters.

Don’t ever lump GenX in with that God forsaken generation

Somebody posted the perfect answer, caring about blue blood status is for those fans looking to keep their erections lasting 3-4 hours.

The “Blue blood” cement dried around the 70’s and they aren’t taking applications. Not something LSU can or should aspire to. All we can do now is crash the parties, drink the alcohol and bang the women before the cops arrive.

LSU is a blue blood. 3 Natty’s in 18 years. Almost 4 actually.
However….
Powerhouse, no. Dynasty, hell no.
