I rest my case
I agree

I will say that fsu ad has racked up debt, esp with the stadium renovation

So that’s probably why people assume they have no money but the truth is they can find the money and are good at leveraging the politicians in Tallahassee to procure funds for their football operations. It’s a drop in the bucket but the simpletons just see “oh big debt, fsu broke” and then drool on their t shirts

I’ve never understood it. It’s a large public school in a wealthy high population state with great football history. It hasn’t been a girls school since the 40s. It’s hard for me to believe there aren’t a bunch of wealthy alumni who love football

They’ve chosen to spend poorly and worse every time they’ve postured the ACC to get something for themselves it’s backfired.

What?

Lowering the GOR and getting more money due to tv ratings was a big W. Suing the league was a big win for FSU.

Was complaining about the lack of support and poor facilities when he was there and was looking for a way out because it was getting worse. If Aleeva had fired Les in 2015, he would have been headed to LSU. Glad we dodged that bullet, TBH

How is it worse than Baton Rouge or Tuscaloosa?

FSU has always been poor. Many years ago as Bowden was building their program, they had a rickety stadium and didn't have the money to make any changes or upgrades. They had to get money from the state. Fans don't show up like at other schools. Bowden built that program with smoke and mirrors, and a few handouts, under the table, for players.

I still have no idea why this was necessary

FSU doesn't have the same enrollment and long-term community hospital/business sponsor ties as UF and Miami.

FSU has double the enrollment and alumni of Miami.
