You are grossly simplifying and understating Oregeron's role on the staff.
There is one hell of a lot that goes into running the football program, including compliance, academics, recruiting, facilities, reporting, staffing , payroll and budgeting, program liaison and public relations, to name but a few.
Orgeron has a big job conducting the executive and administrative affairs of the football program, while setting the tone and being responsible for program trajectory and competitiveness.
As for Aranda, he is on schedule to be making $3m yr as Assoc HC and DC. His payroll will no doubt accelerate more precipitously than Orgeron's, to the point of relative equivalency over the next 3-5 years.
I believe Oregeron and Aranda are essentially a package, an identity or continuity within the program, with the variable occurring at OC.
I don't see Aranda going anywhere, anytime soon. Indeed, I believe Orgeron will leave before Aranda.

Yea and half of that shite O doesn't have much or any of a hand in

Orgeron is here until he is shown the door.
Aranda is here 2 to 3 years tops.
If we are winning 9 games a year, Orgeron isn't leaving for three years minimum. Aranda's end game isn't DC at LSU.
Alleva got roped into a ridiculous contract with O.

I will for sure melt if Jimbo goes anywhere

I'm pretty confident O will win a conference championship before he leaves Red Stick. Especially if y'all hold on to Aranda a little longer.

For who??
I think it will be worse for other fans, when Sumlin loses to LSU but isn't fired... fat Bret gets another year... Mullen and Gus sign extensions... Ole Piss gets coach O 2.0 and Tenn, plus Fla head into early signing period w/o a HC.

Suffice it to say we disagree on the importance of Orgeron's exec and admin duties, as well as on Aranda's place in the program.
Orgeron is absolutely accountable in those areas, they matter, his buyout steadily dwindles and Dave Aranda is presently and quite obviously the future of the program

Hasn’t it become obvious that Fisher is pretty limited if he doesn’t have a clear talent advantage? He’s probably trying to get out now that Miami and Clemson are playing at a high level.

After Jimbo quit this year, I don’t want him any more than O.
I was on the Jimbo train until this year. He either became incredibly dumb or quit

Let me ask you this. Did Orgeron deserve the LSU job?
Posted on 11/22/17 at 8:54 pm to Deactived
I would say yes. As much as anyone else at that point in the search.

We did not have a search.
And in what world do you live in that your think he earned that job?
Posted on 11/22/17 at 9:02 pm to adambomb
Not bad at all. Unless he beats us in 2018 and 2019.

Lolz. You think Ed Orgeron deserved a top 6 job in the country?
You think teams like Texas, Florida, Oklahoma, Florida St, Auburn, USC, would even give O a look? Hell no.

Well yea because there wasn't a search. He had no competition because Alleva is a fricking hack
Posted on 11/22/17 at 9:11 pm to adambomb
No melt at all. Jimbo will realize how fricking crazy they are in College Station and bolt for Bama when Saban retires in 2 years.
Posted on 11/22/17 at 9:16 pm to adambomb
Nope because it has a 0% chance of happening.
Posted on 11/22/17 at 9:18 pm to Deactived
That's all Saban is, a glorified recruiter.
