If A&M is willing to pay 7.5/mil a year to a coach who is on the cusp of missing a bowl with all the built in advantages of Florida State, good for them. LSU was never going to go that high for Jimbo.

Imagine Jimbo at A&M and Kelly at Florida and we have O.

It's going to be comical watching some of you LSU fans eat dung when Coach Orgeron brings home some hardware from Atlanta. I'm pretty confident O will win a conference championship before he leaves Red Stick. Especially if y'all hold on to Aranda a little longer.

If this happens, O had better be circling those games and beating them both regularly.

This is ignorant. I’d think we would be pretty happy. I would.

Yes I know y'all will be happy man. I'm only referring to the portion of the LSU fan base that thinks O will only be a total failure and have been very vocal about it. The " negatigers" I guess you call them.

I’m in that category except for the “total” part. He’s got good support staff and players. He won’t be a total failure (as in losing seasons). But I don’t think he will win the SEC or ever be elite.

I’d absolutely love to be wrong.

We aren't winning the sec with O

Especially with Saban still around

Along with the rest of the conference.

I wasn't a big fan of the hire but when you see another elite coach in the conference other than Saban let me know. Fisher and Kelly don't qualify either. Both caught lightning in a bottle with top shelf qbs in their best seasons. Fisher is an elite recruiter and I'm not sure what Kelly is elite at. Maybe offense but sec schools shut those down so not sure

What evidence do you base this on?

Dude their records are in the elite category

They are light years ahead of O in the coaching realm. This isn't debatable

Some people can't deal with the truth when it hurts.

Fisher isn't going to A&M.

Gary Patterson being targeted.

Orgeron is a gen mgr, whose job is to be the front man and lobbyist for the program, and to get his coaches what they need to succeed. Period.

I think Aranda is here for the long term, with OCs rotating thru every 2-3 yrs. If he plays it right and sticks to the script, Orgeron will have LSU competing for both SEC and national titles over the next 8-10 yrs.

So basically he is a recruiter and that's it.

Aranda here for the long term is a stretch. The 2 to 3 year coaching carousel sounds right though.

The script is hiring the best coordinators available. He didn't hire Aranda.

He hired Canada and they've already had problems. Most people think Canada is out the door at the first HC offer he gets so that would be 0 for 1 on his script.

The thing is that if he doesn't hire the best coordinators available, his head coaching ability won't mask their inefficiencies.

He is a glorified cheerleader and motivator
