this is prolly why you don't see any haste in this decision.

regardless, all of you act as if Miles owes you an explanation when he doesn't owe any of you anything. There have been wheels in motion to get another DC (from other reports) but you guys are so wrapped up in your own self-justification, you refuse to believe there's nothing going on.

I absolutely agree with the way it's being handled. You can NOT rush this decision. Miles has to know that he can't frick this one up or it'll be s short period of time before he's fighting for his own job.

And on the other hand, he can't sit on his arse like he did following Pelini's departure.

IMO, Miles' plan all along last year was to promote his 2 guys.

Can you support that with facts or is this more TD stupidity?

Maybe, but I also think that there were slim pickings last year, also.

Yes, Stewart. That's EXACTLY what I'm sure he's doing. EXACTLY. That makes ENTIRELY too much sense, doesn't it.

I am no longer sure that changes are going to be made, to answer the original question.

Can't even say how little I am looking forward to watching the defense play Ga Tech with the current staff coaching the defense. Its going to be a long, painful game to watch.

LINK

I don't remember when the hire was made, but I know he didn't get in a big hurry. Here's an article from the end of january where a hiring still hadn't been made. I'm sure there was so much to choose from at that point.

I know a lot of people who believe this. There are also a lot of people that beleive that Miles will do everything possible to protect these two.

So because he doesn't move at the speed you want him to move, you translate that into sitting on his arse?

Do you have a clue what was going on from the time Pelini took the Nebraska job on Dec 3 through Jan 7?

It's pretty common knowledge that Miles is very loyal to "his" guys. I'm pretty sure there was a story when he was at OSU, that he wanted to take less money, to give his asst's more. That tells you something about Miles.

The reason I think this is being slow played is 1 of 3.
1) He doesn't want to flat out "fire" the outgoing guys. He wants to give them every chance to move on to a different school without the being fired stigma.
2) Maybe he really wants or has contacted someone who is presently employed(NFL) and is waiting for the chips to fall.
3) Possibly he really believes that the D can be corrected and he's going to give the Co-DC's a chance. God I hope this isn't the case, but it could be.

In any event, it doesn't appear that anything will happen very soon. Right now, I think Miles is totally wrapped up in recruiting.

Recruiting, if nothing more, is the exact reason why Miles should announce a change. I know very well that if I was a defensive recruit and LSU showed interest, I would be uninterested until its been formally announce that Dumb & Dumber are no longer the DCs. Now if LSU announced a proven DC hire, like Rhoades or Chavis, my interest just grew substantially. But that's just me and common sense talking...

All LM has stated about the defense is that he "expects the problems to be fixed...before the bowl game

If the assumption, that many hold, that LM will not make any changes until after the bowl game is true, then what exactly does he believe will fix the problem? Secondly, if he does fix the problem with the current coaching staff and we win the game, what then?

Here

I told everyone a week and a half ago that changes were going to be made, but it was not going to be until after the bowl game. Go check the previous posts. Everyone just needs to chill, there is a plan in place and it is going to take some time.

1.) are you now, or have you ever been a high-level college football recruit?

Why do you think you have any idea what these young men are thinking and considering overall?

2.) Chances are your "common sense" isn't really the basis for where an 18 year old kid decides to spend his college career.

3.) Recruiting is fine, hasn't shifted in the past month, and will likely only improve on NSD.
