Comical to suggest this when Bama can target a 2 time NC winner and alum in Dabo to replace Saban.

I say "see ya Napier". You weren't really a candidate at LSU anyway.

This is silly. if Napier were even willing to do this (potentially wait seven years for a HC job), why didn’t Bama just hire him this past offseason?

No coach worth a shite would agree to being a head coach in-waiting for 7 years....

It's absolutely nonsense and no one should believe it.

If Napier is as smart as he seems to be, he'll stay away from this deal. HCIW almost never works.

There could be two additional ADs by that time.

This is silliness

Why would Napier leave ULL to go be the OC at Bama for up to 2028 when he couple get a HC job at a big time program?

BTW Napier's new agent is Sexton

quote:

That said, Napier changed sports agents this offseason, choosing as his representative one of the country’s most powerful college coaching operatives, Jimmy Sexton and his firm, CAA.

SI Article

So assume that Woodward knows everything that is moving around behind the scenes and if Napier isn't his guy then none of this matters to SW one bit

The Saban Contract going to 2028 is to combat negative recruiting BS, no way that guy wants to be HC at Alabama at 77 years old

Also if Napier took the OC job at BAMA (let me say I dont think he will) then why would he have to stay there if he doesn't want to?

Say Saban does coach until he dies and Bama OC Napier doesnt want to stick around any more. Why wouldn't he just leave?

is it easier/better to spring board from a G5 HC or a P5 OC spot to a P5 HC job?

Why be HCIW at Alabama when you could coach at a second tier school in a power conference for a few years, then move up to a big boy job? You’re better off going to South Carolina, North Carolina State, Texas Tech and betting on yourself.

The more this is discussed, the less it makes sense. Your sauces very well could be mouthpieces for Napier and his agent just to keep his name out there.

There is a tentative plan being put into place to hire Napier at Alabama to be the OC and HCIW. The ULL Admin are aware of this and have quietly put together a list of potential Napier replacements. ULL knows at most they have one more season of Napier in place.

If you rat bastards cause us to lose out on Napier because of all the backlash I swear to God I’ll burn your crops and you will not survive the winter

Some of you are looking at this and fixating on 7 years. I seriously doubt Saban wants to coach at Bama until he is 77 years old. A move like this takes the majority of the unknowns out of it in a lot of ways for everyone involved.

but it is indeed probably bull shite

Just admit it's bullshite and move on. Saban is going to coach till he's 77.

Plus, if Napier does want to go to Bama, he bounces from LSU . . . . JUST LIKE SABAN DID

Who wants to repeat that shite show. SW will run from that option. Because he has seen it in real time back in '04. At LSU

Napier would never be hired as OC at Bama. When has Saban EVER hired an OC of his caliber? Not once. Maybe when Major Applewhite was the OC in his first year at Bama?

Outside of that his OCs have been Kiffin, Sarkisian, Bill O'Brien, and Jim McElwain.

Napier wouldn't be hired as OC for multiple reasons. 1 because he hasn't been that great of an OC or 2 because that's a weird move to make given his career trajectory.
